I agree with you... Like this might be rude, but i do not see that word as a "bad word" My family (I included) use the word (In doors) everyday to each other. And we're actually white... I feel like it's more racist for black people to hold a word against white people. It was wrong for what white people did, But I'm only 17, I didn't do it, and I didn't agree with it, so why should I get beaten black and blue, for saying it to my brother?

Like I don't care if you're black, white, blue... Nobody has the right to claim a word as their own.

This is true, it is just a word but one with a lot of negative history. I do agree with the fact that the word should loose all its power to offend another but asking it to be on the same level with other words is asking for a lot.

I personally don't get offended over it but a lot of people still do. All words are, are sound frequencys and symbol patterns, but its what they represent is what activated the negative meanings they conduct.

The words faggot, the N word, spic and so on and so forth are all negative symbols of how cruel our society can be to some people. I do agree the word should loose power and meaning but we shouldn't expect it to happen anytime soon, since of now the word is still often used to degrade people.
