Personality:
Overview:
Positive: [ Honor Bound | Sympathetic | Loyal ]
Neutral: [ Proud | Stubborn | Teasing | Restrained | Cynical | Sassy | Forthright]
Negative: [ Crude | Vulgar | Pessimistic | Irritable | Confrontational | Sarcastic ]
Honor-bound/ Forthright: Ed never did like the stereotype of snakes being two-faced or traitorous, so he follows his own sort of code. He will never say anything he doesn't mean and is upfront about his thoughts and feelings regardless of who he's speaking to. Ed also always repays a favor done for him. You can always trust he'll have your back.
Loyal: It'll take an awful lot of wrong do-ing to ever lose Ed's loyalty. If you earn it, you're stuck with it, whether you like it or not. He's not one to go flip-flopping around.
Proud/ Stubborn: For a snake, Ed is pretty inflexible. It can be hard for him to admit when he's wrong or go with someone else's ways. Ed likes to do things his way- likes things to go his way. He's not one to let others know he's wrong about anything and will probably argue with you until you're convinced you were the one who was mistaken. If he's really wrong, it's more likely he'll go into an irritated silence than admit anything.
Teasing/ Sassy: Ed can be quite the teaser. It's mostly in good spirit- kinda his way of letting you know 'you're my friend, but you're also being stupid'. Best to just go along with it.
Crude/ Vulgar: Ed's got quite the potty mouth. Seriously, don't let this guy around pups. He'll curse ya here to Fellfang- and that's when he's not even mad! See, Ed doesn't have time to worry about being sophisticated, but know that it isn't always in mean spirit. It's just the way he rolls.
Pessimistic: Optimism isn't something Ed likes to voice. He'd much rather share those worst case scenarios that float around in the back of your head. Better not look to him for reassurance, unless he really likes ya.
Irritable: Ed starts every day on the wrong side of the bed. You never know what will rub him the wrong way and most of the time he'll actively search for something to complain about.
Confrontational: Ed isn’t one to let things slide. He likes to pick fights and face a situation head-on, especially when others are in the wrong.
Pre-Group History:
Ed was born and raised in the swampy lands that Vektren resides in today. Unlike most snake species, Ed was lucky to have the protection of his mother for the first few weeks of his life. Rattlers aren't exactly ones for strong familial bonds, but Ed admired his mother greatly. She was a fierce figure, fiery with noble ideals that she stood for, and even though she had many children and little time with them, she made sure to give each of them their fair share of attention. When the time finally came for their odd family to go their separate ways, Ed's mother left him with one thing, something rare among their kind: a name. Two letters, nothing special, but he cherished it. Being alone out in the world, it was the only thing he owned.
Life in the marshes was rough. For years, Ed wandered aimlessly just trying his best to live up to his mother's image- to be more than just part of some murky backdrop. Eventually, the everyday fight for survival took its toll on Ed's spirits. Life was dull. Life was purposeless. All he ever did day in and day out was stalk mice and spit curses at raptors that got too close. He became jaded by such a bland existence.
The day the ground shook and split was when everything changed. Flood water drove vipers east seeking refuge, and Ed's once isolated home suddenly became far too crowded. He drifted for months, utterly uninterested in mingling with his own kind.
Where should he go? What should he do? Would he ever be a part of something greater? He needed answers.
Then it hit him.
Literally. Ed didn't even have a chance to give a warning rattle before a pair of clumsy paws came trampling over him. Like any rational viper, he lunged with the intent to kill.
Who would've thought he'd end up with his fangs bashed outta his head and his neck caught between the teeth of some Vektreni brat?
Group History:
🐍
Other:
-Ed was caught by Monty and spared as long as he swore to 'serve' him, but truthfully its become more of a highly dysfunctional friendship
-Ed hates birds
-When Monty needs to go out for patrol or attacks, Ed prefers to stay at Vektren's Nest, the Shady Nook, or the Crimson Vigil- it's more entertaining and there is a smaller chance of dying
