It was pretty obvious to Baz that Alderwen wasn't necessarily a popular wolf in Mhor. The clerics'd had plenty to mutter under their breath about him throughout her youth, but despite the sour opinions she'd always heard, Baz admired her father greatly. She'd worked hard to be a model daughter for him as a child: respectful, obedient, disciplined. There were a number of evenings during her childhood Baz could recall spent sitting at the edge of Respite's Hollow, eagerly awaiting his return from daily tasks. But more recently Baz had felt so far from him and everything happening in Mhor now just exasperated that feeling.

First Matthias and now Eamon; both just gone. It shattered everything. Baz wasn't sure she had allowed herself to cry this hard since Oisin. It devastated their family- her father included. Even if he wasn't one to outwardly show that to her often, Baz knew it hit him hard too. The two of them had each lost a brother, though Alderwen had also lost a son. Another son. This one not taken by war, but something else. Something Baz wasn't privy to. Something she wished she understood better.

When had everyone stopped talking to her?

Haeth and Eamon both- Had she really become so unapproachable? Had the distance she created after Oisin's death really severed her relationships so drastically? She didn't want to be the odd one out. She wanted to know each member of her family better than anyone else- so she would start again here with her father. A man she wanted to know so much more about.

A man that she would be there for no matter what.
