I’ve been working on a rather big project since around the end of Dec (dare I say it’s about ¾ done?). Today I decided to take a bit of a break from that and ended up doing this. DA really does hide the tattoo section don’t they? I might end up doing some more smaller designs like this in the future – it IS nice to do something every once in a while that doesn’t end up taking over two weeks (at least).Related content

Actually, the original picture is only about 3 inches (it's just scanned at 200, which might have been overkill on my part). I guess three inches is still big for a tattoo though (really small compared to the usual things I do though)

Yeah - and get this - instead of selecting traditional art (or whatever you usually do), you have to go into 'designs and interfaces' (so deviation, designs and interfaces, tattoo). I'll probably only put my smaller pics in that category though Something about 'tattoo design' seems to imply 'use this for whatever'. For a smaller pic that took an hour or two - eh, well, for something that takes 20-30 hours...nah...maybe not....

Yeah, that's on purpose. At first I was worried that it was too obvious, then I thought maybe no one would notice (so I'm glad you did). There's also a pin in the back (originally I thought I'd put them through the ends of the wings, but no one really displays butterflies like that (they'd rip)). It's hard to see the pin though and I think it takes away from the effect (I thought it would be interesting to have a tattoo butterfly so that it looked like it was supposed to be pinned to the person), but I'm happy how it came out. I have a thing about butterflies. This one is really nicely executed. Thats also using the older meaning of 'nice' implying attention to the finer details. (The meaning of the term 'nicety' has changed a lot over the years).
