Very cute shot.
Watch your sharpness, this shot is looking a little soft. I don't know what your Photoshop skills are like, but this could possible be fixed up with a little sharpening, or my personal favourite the High Pass Filter.
Most of the time the eyes are the most important part of a portrait. Ensuring that the eyes are sharp is crutital, I often take a couple snaps and use Manual Focus to help.
Seeing as this photo was taking in a corner makes my next suggestion a little more difficult. But changing your angle can often help with composition. The end of the dogs nose is blocked in this photo and I would like it more if its whole nose was visible.
