Description Detective Conan and the gang
A gift for my sister-in-law, who is friends with the woman that voices Conan in Japan (yes, it's a woman!)
I do not own any character in the Conan anime and manga.

Quite the polished picture.

Gotta say:

Her voice acting is quite well done.

Switching from child to serious adult mind in mere seconds.

*Applauds*

[probably also one of the reason why I prefer Conans character to Shinichi's - even though they are the same person]

Actually all of MC's voice cast is quite amazing.

Shiho, Akai's voice actors are other examples that stand out.

(Aswell as everyone of the BO obviously.

One thing I wonder:

How doesΒ Minami Takayama think about the show anyhow ?

Hello, hello!

Hmm... I didn't know it was a woman who voiced Conan...
I have to admit, I was never much of a Conan fan (I liked Shonen Kindaichi or "Case closed" better.) But I have a friend who is a big Conan fan. This is a wonderful piece of artwork, especially considering that you have to fit so many different characters in the same frame. Well done, my friend! I hope your sister-in-law likes it!

Me too. It'll be a week or so before I hear about it since it'll be crossing the Pacific. I'm interested in what her friend (the voice actress) will think about it as well.
Doing this brought back memories of all the Elfquest groups I did when I was first starting out, where there were at the very least 9-10 characters in each shot. I enjoy the single-character pieces a little more since I can do more wide-scale detail work. When there are a lot of characters the observer has (in my opinion) too much to look at, and it's a little distracting to see so much going on. That's why I love the Sad Anime Girl piece so much, since there are two places where I want the eye to go, instead of 9-10 places.

Oh, yes indeed. If you hear back from either your sister-in-law or her friend, please let me know!

I remember your earlier projects. And I can see exactly what you mean. In some cases, taking away the colour in a picture featuring more than one character really gives the eyes too much to look at. This one is, however, still better than the Elfquest ones, I think. The original artist's work is cleaner and bolder, with less immediate, small details to take the viewers' eyes away. So while it is still busy, but it's not busy to the point of distraction. I still like this one a lot, and my Conan-loving friend did as well.
