Description

While working on The Fall, I put together a document describing the scenery of the routes and the cities and the interesting people in those areas. Anyone working on or planning on a Kanto nuzlocke may find it useful so I decided to share. It contains all the little things I built my nuzlocke plot on.

Pallet Town: Town of Evergreen. Relatively new town. Home of Professor Oak and Champion Red.
- Lady in pink dress, brown hair in buns or pigtails. “I’m raising pokemon too! When they get strong, they can protect me.
- Fat man by gate. “Technology is incredible! You can now store and recall items and pokémon as data via PC.”
-Three Aids (girl in green dress and light brown hair and two scientists)  F “Oak may not look like much, but he’s the authority on Pokemon.  Many Pokemon Trainers hold him in high regard.” “Proffessor Oak is going to have his own radio show soon. The program will be called Prof. Oak’s Pokemon Seminar.” “Hi, Red. I bet you’ve become good friends with you pokémon. By the way, did you know about Daisy? If you show Daisy your pokémon, she can tell how much it likes you. Occasionally, she will even groom a pokémon for you. This is a secret, so please don’t tell anyone.”
– Strange Machine in Oak’s Lab
-Go in to see Daisy, invites you do drink tea with her, then says that your pokémon look a little dirty and offers to groom it for you. Calls it cute after a giggle.

Email on Oak’s computer: Finally! The ultimate trainers of the Pokémon League are ready to take on all comers! Bring your best pokémon and see how you rate as a trainer! –Pokemon League HQ Indigo Plateau. Professor Oak, please visit us!

Route 1: Country road full of greenery and rough paths. Prairie.
Rocky, harsh turf broken up into rising ledges like stairs. Many go full from east to west, broken up only by man’s construction of hills and stairs. Very few grass patches. Only Pidgey and Rattata live here.
-Man from the Pokémart handing out samples of potions.
-Man with brown hair and green attire. “See those ledges along the road? It’s a bit scary, but you can jump from them. You can get back to Pallet Town quicker that way.
-Pokemon:
–Pidgey is a common sight in woods and forests but can live essentially anywhere a Rattata can; Rattata can live anywhere and survive any environment. Common in savannas and prairies.

Viridian City: Beautiful city that is enveloped in green year-round. The City of Evergreen.
Small city with only two notable houses. Gym bared at first as the Gym Leader is absent. Small pond to the southwest with a man who fell asleep and learned how to eat dreams from a Drowzee eating his in his dream. Market deals good business in antidotes. All inhabitants are knowledgeable about Pokemon. Trainer Academy, with only one student in it and one teacher. Girl trying to memorize her notes. Talking about status ailments.

Route 22:
Carved through high cliffs. Paved yellow brick roads. One pond near the middle left of plateau, two patches of grass on either side. Pokemon League HQ front gate and Route 23 past that.

They grow large by drawing nutrients from this Bug Pokémon host. They are highly valued as a medicine for extending life. (Team Rocket could be after either Clefairy or Paras)

Cerulean City: The floral lagoon city
Intersection of four routes. Midsized city with a decent amount of attractions. Man (and wife) stolen from becomes advocator against crime and theft. Walks into house where father is frantically pacing. “Now, where’s Lostelle gotten to today? She always brings me lunch every day right about now…” “Hm? You, there! Are you a friend of Lostelle’s? Have you seen Lostelle around? I don’t know where she might be. She should’ve been here long ago. Lostelle’s a cutie- she got my looks- so what if someone… What if something’s happened to my Lostelle?! Please, help me find her! Please go search Three Island!”
Team Rocket traffics in rare pokémon. Will abandon any pokémon not good enough to sell.

Then, let me confer my ultimate Blast Burn on your Charizard. Ggggrah-awooo! … Gasp, gasp, gasp… I didn’t think I could teach that move while I still lived…  I implore you to make the best use of that move and gain power!

Three Island: Network up at that point.
Bikers riding all over harassing people for money. Shop owner tells them to leave. Leader is mocking. Blast Burn his Weezing 1HKO. SO for Garrett against Muk. Earthquake 1HKO. “Allright, enough! We’ll leave like you wanted! We’ll be happy to see the last of this boring island!

I love how you methodically took notes of cities, habitats and behaviours and then finished with "Gay undertones for sure; plus they're cute." XD

This looks really helpful. Thank you for sharing. (Now if only I had the time and motivation to actually plan my FR story... *sigh*)

So, as I've been thinking about this matter recently: How big would you consider Kanto? Or maybe the better question would be: How long did Leafs journey take in the Fall? I do realise she had a major pause after her failed attempt in victory road.

The thing is that I've recently blown some minds by stating, that it would merely take a month to get around Hoenn, if you really concentrate on the travelling. And personally I think even that's slow. So the big journey every child in Pokémon universe takes is actually more like a summer season than years. People accused me of having their childhood ruined... xD

Actually I think most of the time a journey takes is consumed by Pokémon training... and probably some sightseeing in bigger cities. But what do you think about this? I would be really interested to know :3

Mmm. I think a month sounds right for Kanto as well if you're just straight traveling. Probably less considering how consolidated Kanto is around Saffron. The routes are not actually that big- but neither are the towns and cities if you just in-game for what it is. I think it's really cool when people expand the routes and cities and stuff though.
Leaf's journey was about 4 months long starting from when she gets Arnold to when she challenged the League. She had a 2 month mental health break after Liam passed and then trained up for the League for 26 days (I did a lot of traveling to Sevii and back and a lot of tedious grinding in game that I thought should probably be spaced out in-comic). SO yeah about a month of actually traveling.
