Here's the kunoichi I've posted in a different pic before, with her mask off.From what I've read, historically, beautiful female ninja are required to employ their beauty and bodies (in a manner that's considered "politically-incorrect" nowadays) to get close to the daimyos or other important targets whom they need to spy on. Ninja have such a hard life... ;_;

Most of the ninja duties involve spying and information gathering. To achieve that end, they have to be well-trained in many areas, one of the most crucial being having convincing acting abilities. It is not uncommon to have ninja posing as normal villagers for months or even years in enemy territory, so that they can gather information without arousing suspicion.
Of course, they are also superb killers and fighters. I read that for many of them, their physical trainings begin at a tender age of three...

wonderfully clean and intricatley detailed drawing (and shading)--the transparency of the hair over her ear is a lovely detail~
The angle at which she is drawn is very nice, gives the feeling that she is on the move or something. Her eyes are beautiful too--very apathetic--she feels very mysterious to me, plus you say she had a mask?

I want to depict her eyes as alert and watchful, but emotionless. Ninja duties can be pretty cruel, part of it involving assassination and torture. Therefore, it's a necessary part of their training to make them hardened and cold.
One of my previous pic "Kunoichi" depicts this same woman, but with part of her face covered with a black cloth.
