Tiberius raced through the thick woods, his heartbeat in his ears. Oh how his feet ached, but he couldn't stop… what if they were still on his trail? Tiberius had long lost his empire comrades, leaving him all alone.

Yet… it didn't feel that way.

Trying to calm himself, he slowed down, letting his body rest. Now at a walking pace he could take in the forest… and just how truly immense it was. As it seemed everything was getting darker, his other senses increased, becoming hyperaware of his surroundings.

CRACK

Tiberius jumped back, putting a hand over his beating heart after realising he was the one who stepped on the twig.

As he meandered through the woods, he began think back. He was fighting alongside his fellow brethren, when the elves had split them up. Considering his more than average skill set, it was a miracle he was still alive to walk this winding path. The Empire prided itself on its military tactile, so he liked to believe he was better than just average. But in the end, everyone was just another expendable soldier.

A pair of blue glowing eyes seemed to dance in the trees above.

Tiberius picked up the pace, drawing his bow from his shoulder, prepping to shoot if needed. Leaves fell from the trees around him.

“What are you doing in my forest?” an alluring feminine voice.

“Who’s there?”

The females form appeared in the tree above, tiberius quickly taking in her form. The curvy woman sat upon a tree, her short white dress barely covering anything important. Her pink hair great contrasted her white hood. But probably the most striking feature was her cerulean eyes, with the blacked out whites of her eyes enveloping her iris. “I am the great demon Chezabelle. Now don't make me repeat myself… Why are you in my forest?”

Tiberius’ heart rate picked up again. He had heard awful tales of what demons could do, and he didn’t intend to be her next victim. The archer quickly drew his bow and aimed at the demon. She chuckled in amusement till it hit the tree right next to her face. She froze for a moment then grew livid. “Did you just try to shoot me?!”

“Y-you’re a demon-”

“You humans are all the same!” Chezabelle jumped down, bouncing off Tiberius. “Pathetic… you are below me mortal!”

“Quite literally…” he mumbled. “Get off me demon! Soon the rest of the empire will be here, and we will put an end to your worthless days!” That was a lie, but he couldn't let the demon know that.

“How dare you threaten me mortal…..” The demon's eyes seemed to glow. Tiberius suddenly hit the ground with a rough thud. It felt like his own soul was pulling his body down into the ground. Breathing quickly grew shallow and rapid, Tiberius unable to get enough air in his lungs.

The demon perked up, letting her magic grasp on Tiberius go. Looking around, she jumped back up into the trees, disappearing into the woods. The archer sat up, a hand over his throat as he coughed. Once again he was able to breath, Tiberius decided to not spend any more time here.

Oh how he hated demons, and all things supernatural! They were all so full of themselves! Humans were obviously better. He loathed them after what happened all those years ago…. Tiberius shook his head. He needed to just focus on getting out of this forest.

Chezabelle watched from the trees above as the man walked along the path while keeping an eye out for the beast she had sensed… the one the human would soon encounter. She chuckled, what a silly little human.

Tiberius grew wary again, something shuffling in front of him. “Demoness? Is that you?”

Its giant golden eye opened. A dragon. Shit.

Tiberius took off running the dragon standing up and following after.

“I don't want to be dragon food!” the archer cried.

Chezabelle watched as the dragon grew closer, readying to jump. “Come to momma….” She jumped and landed on the dragon, mounting herself on its back. “Yahoo!”

The dragon let out a roar, its howl carried in the wind.

“What was that honey?” The demon asked.

Another roar.

“Ooooh! I get it now! It's time for your hibernation! It’s okay girl.”

All the meanwhile, the dragon was still chasing Tiberius. “Chezabelle! Help!”

“Hm… I don’t know… You did try to shoot me with your arrow…”

“I’m sorry! Please!”

“This dragon is pretty hungry…”

“Chezabelle!”

“I do like it when you shout my name… Fine. Tiny stop chasing him.”

The dragon stopped on command and Chezabelle jumped down. “Thank you….” Tiberius wheezed, trying to catch his breath.

“Alright, so here's the deal. Tiny here is far from home and it's time for her hibernation. If you help me you’ll get a pretty penny for your good deed.” Chezabelle held out her hand, the other on her hip.

“Tiny?”

“Are you in or are you out?” Chezabelle rolled her eyes.

If he followed this demon… he could probably sell her and the dragon for way more… “Fine. But how are we going to move this… tiny…” He looked up at the towering dragon. It let out a puff of air. He looked back to Chezabelle and next thing he knew, the big dragon transformed into a puppy sized dragon. “I guess that works.”

“You mortals really don’t understand dragons do you… oh, and Chi.”

“Hm?”

“Call me Chi.”

“I’m Tiberius.”

“Tiberius… Nice to meet ‘cha.” She held out a hand, which he reluctantly took.

“Ah, um yes. Now what?”

“I was hoping you knew…”
