Well it's an excellent piece to have for that in the meantime, I really do love it, the line work is fun, and the background is fucking awesome


if you haven't gotten a new tablet yet, you should look into Huion
I can't personally attest to their screen tablets/cintiqs, but I absolutely swear by their regular graphics tablets, and they have really good prices
I bought my H610 like nine years ago, and it's still going strong, is one of the highest quality products I've ever used, and I got it for like seventy bucks (not on sale, not used, that was legit the new in store price)
the drivers have never failed or needed reinstalling, it has a bigger surface area than any bamboo tablet I've ever had/used (like twice as big as wacom's cheapest model, for almost half the price), and has more/better pressure sensitivity

I'm not kidding when I say I swear by it, and I super recommend it if you haven't already gotten a new tablet or fixed your cintiq

the only downside (for me at least) is the pen that normally comes with it uses a battery, and having a bit of hollow space means it was easy for me to break (but to be fair, I break regular mechanical pencils and pens all the time for the same reason- once a writing utensil is in my bag, it has a high chance of being crushed/smashed woops)
but you can also get a rechargeable pen instead, which negates that problem (then you just have to make sure you don't lose the charger cord, which I've done a few times because I'm a disaster)

We're not going to get a new one !! It's the first cintiq companion fortunately and we're 98% sure that it was the charging port that broke, so we're gonna rip that bad boy open and follow some tutorials to fix it, since the port has been the main big bad issue among companions in the community and the first companion isn't glued together like the second ORZ
I also still have my normal tablet that I've had since 6th grade (Kanvus Life 106) still going strong but I've had a taste of luxury with the cintiq and my laptop is on it's final stand so I'm just kinda waiting it out rn.......
but thank you for the rec for real !!! when my Kanvus DOES eventually die, I'll most definitely keep this in mind! My tablet pen is also battery operated but it takes years for it to die out so batteries are nothing new for me ~~ I ALSO broke the top of mine and glued that bad boy together so they seem to have similar issues ?? Because the Kanvus' pen is just a flimsy plastic...honestly the thing would have died years ago if not for my grandfather modifying the cords, it's no wonder the company doesn't sell them anymore as far as I know

like I'm definitely not saying my h610 is better than a cintiq, but I know Huion also makes on screen tablets (I just can't attest to them because I've never tried them lmao)

yeah the battery pen is a very flimsy plastic, and it screws shut by the middle, with only like one band, so if you crack it even the slightest it doesn't want to stay shut at all and the pen will fritz out
and like I said, I'm destroyer of all writing implements, because my bag has So Much Stuff in it, so everything gets crushed
but you can order it with the rechargeable one instead and it doesn't change the price, which is cool, and that pen is actually Really Nice
like it's super light, but way durable, and the outside is actually really soft, like that velvety kind of silicone
(it... kind of feels obscene actually, but whatever I won't judge them for making a dildo textured pen)

but oh man, I spread this shit like wildfire, any time I hear even the faintest suggestion that someone might look into getting a graphics tablet I'm like

heyyyy have you ever thought about getting the Huion h610? It's price ranges between sixty five and eighty five bucks depending on whether you get it directly from their site (which requires international shipping tax) or through their Amazon sales, which is like half the price of Bamboo's cheapest tablet, even though it's drawing surface is the size of that same bamboo tablet's entire surface, and it has twice as much pressure sensitivity, and the drivers never crash or corrupt
//walks out of the room winking and throwing finger guns
//peaks back in the doorway
and also one time it slipped out of my stuff onto the ground without me noticing, while I was leaving school, and we drove over it before I realized, and while there is the clear imprint of the parkinglot pavement underneath it, there was no other damage, and it still works nearly five years later, so that thing is Durable
//winks once more before finally leaving

true story btw, my sleep deprived ass managed to get it run over, because I somehow didn't notice dropping a plastic hunk the width and length of my laptop
I have no idea how I physically survived high school;;;;

WHAT !!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH AAAA I'm super proud of this because like...I haven't LEGIT lined anything in a few years and this took a lot of discipline for me to actually sit down and finish. Four days of work and a ton of slacking off lmaoooo I'm so glad u like it........
