Description
Trying to get back into painting, so I painted this. Subject is random and spontaneous. I guess it's some magical storm forming over some sacred rock outcropping on a hilltop.Acrylic on Bristol plate. (Scanner totally ruined the colors, there's a lot of lost subtlely in the blues and the yellows got really blown out.)

I think this is pretty great, the yellows and oranges and such against the blues looks really nice!

Well they didn't completely ruin them, just blew them out, losing a lot of the detail. I just need to find a good way to photograph paintings once I start doing bigger ones (I'm planning on it).

I use a camera for my paintings and it doesn't retain the original color completely but it's definately better than a scanner. And if you can, use the panorama mode on your camera so you get more detail in the end result.

Yeah I think I'll try to photograph paintings in the future. I'm not so concerned about the color since I can adjust the color/levels in Photoshop. All I need is a good light setup.
