No she doesn't. She was just never properly taught kanji so she's unable to read it. X) Easy mistake though... (she might have dyslexia or something too, but that's a learning disorder>)

So I thought when I read the scene in which she admits to cannot read... EPIC FAIL!
Moreover,this isn't true so... I trust her even more as European kanji fonts (and dyslexia also has its origin in the mind --> it is a brain binding insufficiency (I'm damn sure that a concerned can not write this properly))

Well, she can read parts of it, most likely the hiragana and the katakana and all of that stuff. I read somewhere that it's just because she can't read the kanji... It's probably more clear in the Japanese version where you can see which characters she's reading. (like, in Emerald, she can read pieces of the Scott's poster while Ruby reads the rest of it to her. It's like my Chinese... bits and pieces...)

I don't know how many dialects there are, but there are a ton of different ones. Like... Cantonese, Guangdong, Shanghainese... And no, I can't post your name. :/ Chinese doesn't really work like that. We don't have letters- we have characters. For example, my name (real) is δΈθ but that's not based on pronunciation. It's the name my parents gave me, and it's based on meaning. If I were to give you a name based on pronunciation, it would make no sense whatsoever, be too long to be an actual name, and I don't even know enough Chinese to make one in the first place. X)
