Description I live in a flat where the kitchen is slightly below ground level which means we see the feet for everyone from the pub who passes by. At night, this rather large hole into our world is easily visible especially now that it gets dark so early. Wanting a little more privacy, I decided I'd finally go out and get some curtains for our kitchen window. I found a tension rod that would fit the space - that was the easy part. Unfortunately, there weren't any tiny curtains, so I opted for the next best thing - a pair of tan pillow cases which were then brought home and modified with Rita's assistance. She suggested I ought to draw something on them. What a brilliant idea! I had a book on Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli upstairs, so I ran and got that, and that is how these curtains came to be. I think we went through two and a half movies while we were working on the curtains as there was quite a bit of hand sewing that needed doing. While we watched Dumbo, Kill Bill Vol. 1, and attempted to watch Alien3 (we gave up because it was skipping pretty badly), these curtains came to be.

Lovely idea...and very good execution! Miyazaki is a marvelous choice and Totoro is a particular favorite. Well done!
