We try to not be too competitive, but spotting is a hard art.
Where do/did you do your game spotting?

George Washington National Monument (a National Monument is like a National Park just smaller) is about twenty miles away and is a favorite.www.nps.gov/gewa/index.htm Here we mostly look for birds and deer. It is located on Popes Creek and empties into the Potomac River. My wife's favorite is the Bald Eagle. There is a large variety of water birds that change with the season.
We also like Shenandoah National Park which is about 90 miles away. www.nps.gov/shen/index.htm Here we see whitetail deer, black bears, turkeys, coyotes, chipmunks and rabbits in addition to a lot of smaller birds. I usually ride along with the Nikon D7000 with a 75-300 zoom lens on it. With the crop sensor it gives you a 450mm lens.
We also like the local wildlife, walking around the neighborhood we see rabbits, squirrels and about 10-15 different kind of birds. I saw a pileated wood pecker in out back yard this morning. We have a walk out basement so the kitchen window is 15-20 feet above the ground. He was on a hickory tree looking for insects not 20 feet from where I was standing. www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Pi… ; They are very large wood peckers.
Last year we went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks out west. My wife was sick most of the time, so, it really hampered our time out early or late looking for game. We did see bison (American Buffalo), elk, pronghorn antelope, and black bear. We plan to go back in May 2017.
