PERSONALITY

Diana is a very kind, loving and compassionate person. While initially somewhat naïve, she’s grown wiser in her time in Man’s World. As an outspoken egalitarian, she fights for what she believes in and can rather be strong-willed as such. Diana stands for the betterment of mankind through love and mutual understanding, as taught by her by the Amazons. She can also be quite stubborn, if she believes something is the right thing to do, there is no stopping her. However Diana sometimes loses faith in both humanity as herself when she faces humanity’s potential for evil.

After the World War I, Diana is left sobered and emotionally broken. After witnessing a “century of horrors”, Diana largely stepped away from heroics. However she once again turned towards heroics and formed the Justice League. Despite humanity demonstrating how much they fail, she still holds underlying belief in her own core values and the positive effect true heroes can have on the world.

Diana is a warrior at heart, she can become relentless and ruthless on the battlefield and even sometimes reckless. She sometimes shows signs of enjoying a good battle when they put up a good fight. She also greatly respects other noble selfless warriors. In addition, Diana appears to hold members of her close family in high esteem. In addition to the respect she has for her mother, Hippolyta, aunt Antiope, her half-sister Cassie and her father Zeus.

BIO

Diana, Princess of Themyscira is an Amazon warrior and one of the world’s first superheroes, known as Wonder Woman. Diana is a founding member of the Justice League. She is the daughter of Queen Hippolyta of Themyscira and King Zeus of Olympus, born on the newly-created island of Themyscira, mere months after the end of the War of the Gods. Zeus intended for the child to one day grow strong enough to defeat Ares. Fearful for her daughter’s safety, Diana’s mother lied to her about her true parentage, instead telling her that she had been sculpted from clay and Zeus brought her to life after many prayers. Diana believed this story for most of her life.

Diana was the only child on the island and therefore often grew bored, most notably by her lessons. She began to take an active interest in the Amazon’s combat training, despite her mother’s stern refusal of it. This led to her often running off from her tutors to watch them train. Diana’s aunt Antiope, General of the Amazons, was aware of the true nature of her background and knew one day she had to face her destiny. Diana was determined to serve and Antiope who cared deeply for the young Diana began to train her in secret.

Seven years after their training had begun, their deceit was discovered by Queen Hippolyta who was angry at Antiope for defying her decision. After Diana was sent to her room, Antiope managed to reason with Queen Hippolyta, reminding her that Diana had to one day fulfil her destiny. Queen Hippolyta accepted this with some difficulty but ordered Antiope to train her harder than any Amazon before her until she was even better than Antiope herself. With the blessing of her mother, Diana formally began her extensive training in all forms of Amazon combat and became a formidable warrior.

Years later during a training session observed by her mother, Queen Hippolyta, Diana sparred against her fellow warriors while demonstrating her weapons expertise. Diana’s final opponent was Antiope herself, the two fought with all their might and Diana even managed to disarm her opponent. While looking up for approval from her mother, Antiope seized the opportunity to push her to the ground, picking up her sword and admonishing her for letting her guard down. As Antiope slashed at her, Diana instinctively brought her arm together to block the attack. Her clashing arm gauntlets resulted in her unleashing a powerful shock-wave that sent her aunt flying back. Everybody, including Diana, was left in shock. Diana apologized to Antiope and abruptly left the training session.

Diana wandered off to a cliff on the seashore, while she stood there, she noticed an airplane bursting through the forcefield surrounding Themyscira, crashing in the nearby waters. Seeing even from a great distance away that someone was trapped inside the sinking aircraft, Diana rescued the pilot, a human named Steve Trevor. She pulled him onto the Themysciran shore, as he came to she noted in disbelief that he was a man, as she had never seen one before. Not soon after several boats came through the forcefield, while Steve noted that he was one of the good guys and the people on the boats – Germans – were the bad guys. Having noticed the invading ships, the Amazons quickly gathered and a battle soon followed. As the battle came to an end, Antiope laid down her life to save Diana from a bullet, before passing she urged Diana to use the God Killer and defeat Ares. Steve was taken captive and brought before an angry Queen Hippolyta, being interrogated by using the Lasso of Hestia, he unwillingly revealed military secrets. He informs them about the stolen notebook, the Great War, and the millions of people that had died. Hearing this, Diana deduced that only Ares could be behind a war of this magnitude. Diana tried to persuade her mother to send the Amazons back with him to face the god, but much to her astonishment her mother refused.

The loss of Antiope and subsequent realization of Mankind’s downfall during the absence of the Amazons convinced Diana to steal the God Killer along with an Amazon shield, Lasso of Hestia, and a special set of battle armor. Afterward, Diana freed Steve from his holding cell to sneak him off the island. At the docks, they were intercepted by her mother and to Diana’s surprise, she was allowed to leave, before being gifted her aunt’s tiara. Diana and Steve cast the boat off into the ocean, and she watched as her home vanished once they passed through the island’s forcefield. As they sailed, Diana informs Steve about Ares and their mission to kill him, they discuss many other topics, like marriage. After days of travel, they finally arrived in London, but Diana was less than pleased with the sight of the city, stating that it was hideous.

As they walked through the streets of London Diana insisted that Steve took her to the war and she was dismayed to hear that he intended to deliver Doctor Poison’s notebook to his superiors in the British War Council. Steve had to promise her that he would take her to the war after delivering the notebook. Annoyed by the detour, Diana agreed. Steve now realizing she was wearing her battle armor had to take shopping. At the store, the two met Etta Candy, Steve’s secretary. Etta helped Diana try on a great many outfits until she finally settled on one. Dissatisfied, thinking she was still looking too distracting, Steve gave her a pair of spectacles. After they left the store, Diana reluctantly allowed Etta to take her sword and shield back to Steve his office, while making her promise she’d protect it with her life.

As the two were headed towards the British War Council, Steve noticed they were being followed. He tried to lose them by taking a turn down a back alley but walked straight into a German spy’s gun. When Steve refused to give back the stolen notebook, the spy aimed to shoot Steve, but Diana blocked the bullet off with her gauntlet, saving his life. Diana then fought the German spies single-handedly. As one of the spies tried to escape, Etta came and blocked the exit, pointing the God Killer at him. Diana used her lasso to trap him and asked him about Ares, rather than reveal any information, the spy committed suicide bus walling a cyanide pill. When they do finally arrive at the War Council, Steve urged her to wait outside, curious she ignored his request and followed him into the room. Dozens of men argued with each other, the room however fell silent once they noticed Diana. Women were not allowed in the room and Steve quickly had to escort her out.
