Tommorrow is the 106th anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide. As someone who was named after a great grandmother who survived the atrocities of this event, it effects my family, and my people heavily. Tommorrow there is the potential of the president calling this event a Genocide for the first timee in 40 years, which is a massive event if it does happen, as most presidents have refused to do so, not allowing up the closure that we need. As some may know, last fall Azerbaijan backed by Turkey hosted a series of attacks on Artsakh, and was able to steal the land within the region- which is filled with old archeological Armenian sites and artifacts. Those of which they destroy, deface, and completely 'change' the history of. They even created a 'park' that showcases a wall amde from the helmets of killed Armenian servicemen, mannequins showcasing horrible and racist caricatures of Armenian soldiers, and more. Racism and ethnic cleansing, the backbones of genocide are still alife today. Words cannot describe the things that I have seen.

All I can hope is that tommorrow's response, might just shed light and hope on the future of my people. If only.
