don't worry, I also just recognized him recently...
He's Kaneki Ken from Tokyo Ghoul manga...which adapted into anime that will air next week

at the begining he's just a dork who can't even hit a single bug and yet he's so kind and adorable but after 60 whole chapters his personality changes, he develops into somebody different, a badass antihero who could kill anyone without single thought... << this thing is what attract many fans
beside his ghoul mask which looks quite scary at first but once you used to it, looks really really cool is really captivating

well, try looking at raws while following raw thread in batoto, it helps understanding the rough story a lot /lol
yeah, I really love  the character development here... from hero to kinda antihero
