Description
This drawing is based on the Tao teh Ching verse that deals with the four kinds of leaders. This could apply equally to how one acts toward others as a role model. The leader that works in line with Tao influences everything but is not in charge. Second is one who is loved, third is a leader who is feared and last is the leader who is despised.

My thoughts are that the leader in the way of the Tao would be someone like Martin Luther King, he never held office but completely changed the world with out violence or conspiracy. He got everyone to look inward and listen to their conscience.

The leader who is loved kind of makes me think of Obama, he is trying his best to do the right thing, and so far his popularity is a result of that. He is still a politician and he wields a lot of power which is always dangerous.

The leader who is feared reminds me of Saddam Hussain or any number of leaders who use conquest and war and shows of strength to keep the people in line.

Any of these leaders can choose to loose balance and end up as the leader who is despised and the people, their henchmen or others will end their reign.
