i'll try to remember the advices you gave as answers to quite a few people here, they might prove quite useful if i manage to use them properly
the render is just awesome, even though you've heard it a lot here i think

How do you create those damn cool reflections?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

agent48 In reply to HKISGotMilk [2006-05-22 05:17:12 +0000 UTC]

Umm... Add another transform, move it around a bit till it's in the right place, then use a bit of blur & this & that..

Awesome. Interesting color choice, too... more industrial, less kiddie toy plastic. Or maybe an odd way to package peppers???

Could be anything, you know fractals.. I like the ever so slightly post modern broodiness to it.

i get completly mesmerized by pictures like this, i just dont understand how people can come up with these things, nothing i have ever done in apophysis 2.04 beta hasnt come out anything as good as this. i mean how did u get the bubbles and the 3d effect? awesome job!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

agent48 In reply to ChrisLocksArt [2006-05-12 02:11:00 +0000 UTC]

Try just using 2 or 3 transforms, then play with small amounts of spherical, julia, and blur variatations..

Thx for the feedback too.

xraynet [2006-05-10 22:04:42 +0000 UTC]

Well done! The "wet" or "plastic" look usually is an effect of the color gradients utilized (standard Apophysis gradients have too many colors to get this, and it requires shaping the gradient curves to achieve it well). For those who want, Google "Jos Boogens", the fractal artist from the Netherlands, and you'll probably find a link to his "wet look" color gradient files.

If you achieved this look just by using transforms, more power to you!

I didn't do anything special with the gradients, i'm just using the blur and spherical variables to create the solid-looking 'surfaces'.

how did you make texture like that?
I can never do that good

try increading the value of the 'blur' variable on the 2nd transform..

Even though I'm a member, I don't usually find Apophysis stuff very interesting. This, however, is quite cool. I wish that I had something more useful to say in a critique, but I could never make anything like this, so the best I can do is just say, "awesome."

Sincerely,
=mdvbilt

I would have to disagree with you about the quality of work that people have produced with Apo. Check out Zueuk, Psion005, and MichaelFaber, to name a tiny few..

Anyway, thanks for the positive feedback.
