"I'm so psyched about the Siren Ghost concert!"
"Aaugh!  If I don't get in to the Siren Ghost concert soon, I'm going to die!"
"This line hasn't moved in hours!  What's taking so long?"
"And why do they only play on full moon nights?  What gives?"
"Don't question the Siren Ghost!  They play when they want and only when they want!"
The line outside the Orpheum Thearter got so large that the local police had to close off a lane of traffic on Hennepin Avenue in case the crowd was unable to remain on the sidewalk any longer.  The crowds were so large of young people - mostly teenage girls - that the sea of bodies were physically incable of remaining inside of the barriers.

Behind the scenes, the scene outside the thearter's Green Room was tense.
"Don't they know how many people are outside?"
"Sure they know.  It's all part of their mystique."
"But the police are going to charge us for crowd control again.  The boss is upset about all these extra expenses.  And if we keep charging the bands for these expenses, nobody's going to book us ever again."

Inside the green room, the scene was much less tense.  It was downright chill.  The performers of the all female band had gathered around a black leather couch.  Only one of them was walking.  The rest sat with their tailfins beneath them, ranging in a myriad of colors that went from blue to red and pink.
"Is it time yet?" the lead singer, Jessica Coral, asked.  "Because once we send out our opening act, we're locked in to a time frame.  And I don't dance without legs."
"I don't mind playing the drums with fins," said the drummer, Sasha Seals.  "You've always sounded better with fins, you know."
"Yeah, but there's way too much reverb underwater," said the bassist, Leanna Marina.
The walking member, also the keyboardist, checked her phone.  "Relax, relax, low tide should hit at about eight thirty local time," replied Anna Transom.  "And it's six thirty.  I think if we let Popcorn Rimp go on at seven, we'll have a fifteen minute window to get ready for our set."
"That's perfect!" Jessica Coral said.  "Give the manager a text."
Leanna picked up her sea-green Epiphone guitar with purple scales across the face and began to tune the strings.  "No time like the present to get started warming up, then."

Well, if some mers have legs when they are dry, maybe some can have legs when the tide is low

That's exactly what this story is premised on.  It's not my usual style, but once in awhile I like to dabble in disbelief.

I'm surprised you didn't try to pull off a "Ghost in the Shell" pun.

Couldn't think of a good one.
