Description
I wanted to draw Princess Celestia digitally and ended up drawing Nightmare Moon as well.I think they both turned out better than expected.
Expect more pony art in the future. I'ma try and crank out more soon as well as a (hopefully) interactive storybook featuring Twilight and Trixie.
These two belong to Hasbro and Lauren Faust.

I like how the lighting on Celestia is. You captured the wash of a bright full moon. fwiw I am glad you wound up putting Nightmare in there as well-- that's just a bonus for us.

Hey thanks! I was playing around with the effects in photoshop vecause I hadn't drawn digitally in a while and saw this effect on the moon. I thought "Hey, that looks just like the moon tonight!" So I kept the bright moon lighting.

The way Celestia looks so luminous, it looks like something magical or terrible is going to happen. She looks heroic. LOL that looks so silly in writing! It really came out nice I think.

You could say that Celestia is shining (like a star even).
She really is always heroic, even when she's in such a sad and hesitant mood.
She's about to go friendly on Nightmare's flank!

XD lolling at that icon, that kid wagging his head, those guys are great.
But yeah, she is shining like a lot of classic illustrators draw figures representing good, like Gandalf in Moriah when he went up against the Balrog. Or Jesus gets that treatment often.
She kind of looks like she is a little bit afraid or worried, or sorrowful, but also she is posed like she is determined to stand up to Nightmare about to attack...and win.

Yeah, I tried to make her look almost godly while her being unsure and scared to possibly hurt her sister, even though she is over-taken by darkness and jealousy and what-not. A princess must be ready to defend her kingdom from destruction even if she has personal business in the way.
