Description Another shot from the small village in the countryside near HΓ€meenkyrΓΆ, Finland.
The place is gorgeous, like left behind in time and filled with fields and old farming apparatuses.
Hope you like this one. Taken with sigma 10-20mm.

I may have commented on this a few years ago, but I just wanted to say that every time I think of my favorite color photo i've ever seen...This is the one that I think about.

Traditionally my favorite is long exposure photography in black and white...But sometimes there is a color photo that absolutely steals you. This one makes me feel something beyond composition, beyond color, beyond what your shooting.

For me, I feel pure emotion, like the best music will do - and i'm sure I will remember this photo for the rest of my life.

How on (or off for that matter) did you get the sky so perfect? You can't have done a selection in PS with all that detail poking into it surely?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

ageofloss In reply to Samedi [2007-03-05 09:13:24 +0000 UTC]

Nope couldn't have been done by the selection tool. I made that polarizer effect as the picture was in RAW format by adjusting it's colours.
Thanks for your comment

I was thinking more of the exposure, or did you manage that perfect exposure in-camera?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ageofloss In reply to Samedi [2007-03-06 13:29:24 +0000 UTC]

oh that, because the sky usually gets very bright compared to the ground I sometimes darken it in PS with 'shadows/highlight'. I'm planning on purchasing filters to do that for me, cause PS effects and adjustments have that special something to degrade picture quality. Thanks for asking

Samedi In reply to ageofloss [2007-03-06 15:54:15 +0000 UTC]

I usually get a freaky halo around darker objects when I do the shadow/highlight thing in PS. I tried the Lightroom beta and adjusting brightnes for specific colours worked fairly well there...but I guess n-grads are the best option for skies.

One more great photograph! Great work, you know that yourself! How much post production do you do in your photographs? And how much did you do in this one?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ageofloss In reply to rippedangelwings [2007-01-02 21:25:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks

All my pictures go thru pretty much the same amount of post-process:
basic sharpening, adjustments of contrast and colours, cropping etc.
And this one is no exception.

Thanks for your comment

the colours are amazing!
lovely lovely.
i love the deep (and "swirly"!) blue of the sky...
with the clouds.
together with the golden field...
these contrasted with the tree.
it's perfect.

well done!
