fantastic job!

how do you always get the sky and the foregound exposed correctly like that?

is it through post processing or neutral grad filters?

Damn I can't remember... I haven't used filters, so I'm guessing it's post-processing
Thanks.

so was the snail in the clouds a conscience thought? or was it happenstance that you were taking a picture of a snail with a snail in the clouds? OR do you cheat and photoshop a snail into the clouds? or did you even notice?

Heh I must say I didn't even notice that until you mentioned about it and even then I had to look for it some time Thanks for your comment.

i think snails are quite photogenic... i like taking photos of them... even if im scared of them they're cute likkl creaturey things... it's quite strange though... coz that snal is quite different to the snails we have here... as in.. the colour and the shape of the shell *(wonders why she noticed that)* ... *(needs a life)*

He's crossing the Alps. And doesn't need elephants for that. I really like the shot, the movement in it though slow it is and the feeling of a sunny day. I also like the focus, how it seems that the "mountains" seem to go on and on forever. The sky is beautiful as well with it's fluffy clouds. Can't do but like. (:

And snails are very photogenic. At least they don't run away while shooting.

I used the 350D kitlens 18-55mm. Thanks for your comment

ah.. I see.. so it's good? I bought the camera without the kit lens. But I'm considering buying a lens like the 18-55mm.

It's ok, but there are plenty of other lenses that yield better quality pictures.

full view is definately the best way to look at this image, ageofloss. When i first saw the regular view I couldn't quite tell if you managed to get a good shot of the snail being thrown or what it was. But its pretty well done on full view.

ageofloss In reply to aislynslaine [2006-06-15 09:36:25 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. Everyone should have the full-view as a default setting, I think

haha, true in cases where you are viewing images of a certain size.. i find it obnoxious that in some cases I need a 40 inch screen to see an image completely in full view.

This is awesome, the first thing I noticed was the cloud just above the snail... it looks like someone jumping through the air... and then it looks like a snail is looking up wishing he could do it too

Just my weird little head.

I like this kind of shot as well. I have a remark though: the sky. It draws the attention away from the snail. Keep doing these kind of shots as well, though!
