Personal inktober #11. MY OC Kitty is holding a spirit.
The Soul Birds are traditionally souls of those who have passed and there still are shops at least in Helsinki that sell little ceramic or wooden soul birds that can be put on a bedroom table while one sleeps, because the birds were said to be guardians that will prevent one not to get lost into the world of dreams while they sleep and if one is to die at night, the birds will serve as hosts for the soul and take the spirit to the other side.

Kitty is torn between her desires because she wants to free the souls that are trapped inside of her demon mother but she also wants to live and roam free like a bird in the sky.
