Description
Bright lights flashed in bursts of colors trying to tempt you in visiting the booths from where they came. They shone especially bright on a dark night like this. The scent of butter popcorn and sweet sugar, as well as the joyous shouts of excited patrons, overtook your senses.
A slight tug on your hand made you look down towards the beaming light brown eyes of your daughter.
She grinned at you, pure delight written across her features, before motioning for you to come closer.
"What is it, Max?" You spoke into her soft ear.
"Can we go on that mouse roller coaster now?"
"Ask Daddy."
The response was unoriginal but fair in this case, since Levi would be forced to come onto the colorful and fast-paced ride.
Max pulled Levi down towards her in the same manner; her pleading eyes were very obvious at the moment. She whispered into his ear and the muffled sounds of a familiar conversation was heard. After a long pause, with Levi staring at your hopeful daughter, he nodded his head. Max jumped before tugging you both towards the ride.
"I saw it over here," She grunted and inspected the fair grounds. It ranged from booth games to hamster wheels to a gravity chamber that left you dizzy and on a completely new kind of high.
"How come you agreed?" You asked Levi who took long strides to keep up with Max.
He stared at you with a single eyebrow raised, "Because, unlike you, I'm not a royal ass who will shit on my daughter."
Scoffing, your hand hit his bicep with a good deal of force used.
Of course Levi just had to have the, surprisingly, strong body of a god.
Now, your hand stung.
"You should learn a bit of manners, Mr. Ackerman." It came out with a rather annoying, prestigous voice.
Levi merely rolled his eyes before abruptly stopping. He pulled you back by your collar to stop you from tripping over the young girl.
In a matter of minutes, the three of you were being strapped in with a large metal bar. Max sat inbetween you and Levi, giving you both excited looks.
The blue mouse car soon moved forward along the track. It made a sharp left, causing Max to bump into you, then began going upwards.
Glancing at Levi, he showed a hint of being slightly happy under his typical emotionless facade. He turned his head and gave you a wink and a quiet chuckle.
A second later, the mouse car jolted forward and tipped over a drop. Max yelled and laughed as the car moved from side to side, spinning occasionally, and dropping. Yakety Sax music blared through the speakers while you laughed.
The ride soon finished, truthfully it wasn't too intense, but Max was jumping and exclaiming joyfully all the same.
"Daddy! Did you have fun?!" She squealed when Levi suddenly lifted her onto his shoulders.
"Yeah I did."
"Aww!" You grinned lovingly at the two.
Levi rolled his eyes and flicked your ear.
He suddenly grunted and looked up at Max, whose face was scrunched up and surrounded by her wavy hair.
"Be nice to mommy!" She pouted and brought her fist down on her father's head again.
"Ah, all right," Levi brought his hand and gently rubbed your ear with the pad of his thumb.
"Now hugs!"
Levi wrapped his arms around you and you returned the favor. Max happily clapped.
"Give Mommy a kiss!" Max smiled eagerly.
"You sure?" You asked, raising your eyebrow at Levi. He wasn't known for his public displays of affection.
He pressed his lips against your own for a moment, "I am not a royal ass, am I?"
Chuckling, your lips met once more in a delighted kiss.
"Yay!" Max giggled, "Now make Mommy come!"
Time seemed to stop as you and Levi took in what the girl just uttered.
"I, uh, what?" You sputtered out.
"Well Auntie Hanji told me when you make someone come, you make them happy."
You shared a look with Levi in stunned silence.
"Okay Hanji cannot be your sitter anymore." Levi announced and began to walk again.
"But-"
"No buts!" You interrupted loudly.
Soon after your vow to be rid of a certain brunette, a high striker came into view. Two teenagers accompanied the tall, infamous game.
"Be the first one to win the grand prize today!" A brown-haired teenager shouted. He motioned to a large, pink teddy bear hanging amongst a rack of smaller animals.
"Ooh! Daddy!" Max, who was now on the ground, gleefully pointed to the bear.
Levi exhaled, "Sure that's what you want?"
Max eagerly nodded towards you both.
"It won't be hard for you." Patting Levi's shoulder, a tender kiss made its way onto his cheek.
"Alright, I'll get the bear." He exhaled once more and walked towards the teenager and his apparent friend.
"She could easily be mine! Also, I'm not just saying that to prove that I can steal someone's heart. Oh, hey Marco, can you tell Connie to shut the hell up?!"
"Jean! Get off your phone!" The brunette shouted at his co-worker.
"Fine!" Jean yelled back to the other."Call you later. Bye."
"Was that so hard, Jeanbo?" The brunette teased.
"Eren, I swear I will-!"
Levi cleared his throat, announcing his presence. The two boys immediately stood up straight and faced the shorter man.
"Yeah, I wanna win the bear," Levi stated casually and handed Eren a dollar before either could speak.
"Not to be rude or whatever, but no one has gotten the prize all week."
Jean snorted and handed Levi a mallet, "Who cares? I want to see short stack here try."
Levi merely rolled his eyes while the two bickered over respect and the likes. The faint sound of Max clapping was heard from where she stood next to you.
"Go, Papa!" She bounced on her toes, nearly bursting with excitement.
"This'll be fun," Jean chuckled softly.
Levi raised the mallet, just barely over his head, before slamming it down. Loud ringing filled the air as the bell threatened to fly off of its hinges.
It was silent for a moment. Suddenly, Max whistled and clapped for her father. She ran and hugged him tightly.
Eren handed over the pink bear with a look of astonishment. "You're really strong, sir. Maybe even humanity's strongest!"
Levi smirked, "Probably not but thank you, Eren."
Eren blushed slightly, nodding his head reassuringly.
Max happily took the pink bear from Levi's grip, literally jumping for joy. She stuck her tongue out at Jean before running back to you.
"I think it's time to go home, okay?" Max shook her head, against your words, but yawned loudly.
"Fine," She grumbled.
"Bye! Thank you!" Max waved at Eren. "See ya, horse face!"
Eren began cackling at her words while Jean stood stunned.
"Ha! A little girl can even realize what you look like!"
"Stuff it, Jaeger!"
About half an hour later, the three, well four, of you were on your way home. Max slept soundly with Eren in her hands. She just had to name him after the nice man who gave her daddy the toy.
Levi's hand interlocked with yours; his other rested on the steering wheel.
"You made her really happy, you know?" Mumbling, sleep began to toss you in and out of its clutches.
"I know. She makes me happy," Levi quietly admitted. He wasn't typically sentimental with anyone but just once in a while...
"You make me happy, too." He murmured.
"Love you," The words barely escaped you as you fell into a peaceful and content sleep.
