Started the redesign the other morning. At first it was still to much mass and then I thought to really scale down the mass. And I was afraid it wouldn’t read as a robot. So browsed on Pinterest for some inspiration and started curving away the mass. I’m really happy with the direction here. It’s starting to get really interesting. Less mass, less bulk. It’s still has soft curves but it’s not reading as a human in a tech suit.

I think there’s balance between her upper and middle body. I worry about drawing such a complicated design in a graphic novel. Granted in theory I wouldn’t be drawing her full body all the time.

Also did some work on her name (again).

Neohuman Operating Automation version 11A , for short she’s NOA-XIA, XI being the Roman numeral for 11. I like this because it’s similar to her original name Xia Hao but now I have a real reason for her name sounding exotic compared to Raine’s name.
