This is just a quick drawing. It differs from my usual style, but I didn't have an actual picture that portrayed this exactly, thus the cartoon-like result. I just had this image in my mind of young Loki wearing the helmet that was not yet his size. The idea was so sad that I felt I could not draw anything else before it. After making a rough draft I had the idea of putting the silhouette in the background. It emphasizes that putting on the helmet foreshadows his tragic future.
The sadness in the drawing comes from the difference between the child and the shadow. Young Loki looks so innocent, happy, and carefree. His shadow, on the other hand, appears cold, distant, and burdened with his purposes. Yet the two are still connected.
