I read during Red Flag exercises in the 80s these guys wouldn't ourun fighters, but simply go so low (they called it "Eating Dirt") they couldn't be seen!

Pretty much, no way a Buccaneer will outrun an F-15 unless its right on the deck, too low for the fighter to follow. Apparently they way to sport a Bucc' was by its dust trail!
