AN IMPORTANT PART of Zorba's life was finding lil baby Ferris on the nature reserve she worked on! She loves him so much, and raises him alongside the other park rangers.

Zorba strolls wistfully through the bright golden fields of the Stirlingwood forest nature preserve, the crisp air of fall filling her lungs. She always adores fall, looking forward to wonderful food and cozy weather, and most importantly the time she gets to spend with her family. Though her family is a makeshift one -- a group of ragtag folk brought together by their love for the Stirlingwood forest and all life that dwells within it-- it is hers, and she would never dream of asking for another.
The hills ahead glow bright with the setting evening sun, the autumn breeze sending gentle waves through the tall yellow grass. The path she follows skirts the edge of the forest, on her right the open fields of grain, and her left the vast and twisting trees of the Stirling Woods, their leaves turned for the season. She intends to nap once she makes it to her favorite hill. It is the only hill with a tree atop it, perfect for leaning on to enjoy the afternoon sun, as well as the best vantage point to watch the field mice and birds dart about the grass. She would often bring a box of crackers to feed the animals, and today was no different. She pulled one from her pocket and took a bite, wishing to herself that she had brought a bit of cheese to go with them. The chattering of a bird fills her ears and the animal flies down from its perch, landing right on Zorba's horn.

"Oh! Would you like some?" She asks, lifting the remaining half of the biscuit to the bird. It lets out a peep and pecks its beak at the cracker happily, and Zorba continues her walk forward alongside the feathered hitchhiker. Ahead of them sits the napping spot, the tree having followed suit and changed its colors for fall. Orange leaves drift from its branches, only to be lost within the sea of golden grass that surrounds it. An unfamiliar sound hits her ears, one she does not recognize. It sounds like babbles, though not the kind that the usual brook would make. The sound was that of a baby, but Zorba could not persuade herself to believe that a baby would be wandering alone in the wilderness.

She cautiously approaches the tree, searching its branches to find the source of the noise. To her surprise, it was indeed a baby, sitting precariously on one of the branches right at Zorba's eye level. She gasps and reaches forward for him, terrified that the child would fall if left there.

"My goodness, child, who put you here?" She breathes a sigh of relief as she picks him up safely in her arms. The baby smiles at Zorba and it warms her heart far more than even the sun ever could. He reaches out to her with his small, striped hands, and Zorba recognizes by the patches that he is a painted Satyr, just like Charon.

"Where's your family?" Zorba asks, looking quickly around to see if she'd perhaps missed someone searching on her way up. She then silently questions why she thought a baby would be able to answer any questions she posed to it. "You truly are precious, aren't you?" She laughs, holding him up in front of her. "I presume I'll take you back to the cabin with me. Someone might be looking for you, little one."
