Last time I posted here,I mentioned that I did a comic for a final assignment and it got rejected. Here it is. I never posted it anywhere so this is the first time I’m sharing it. It’s based on a short story but I can’t remember what it was called. It was about a girl who became obsessed with her classmate, Marcela, because she was getting really weird and her health seemed to be going downhill. Throughout the story, Marcela goes through a sort of crisis and she starts biting her nails off and pulling out her hair.

It’s not the best thing I’ve ever done, I really didn’t have that much time to put into it. I think I drew three pages in three days in between my lessons. So I kept it simple, with lots of black and white and very few details. I guess I wanted to focus on the character’s expressions. I’ll leave the translation below if anyone wants to read it.

Text 1: We had never paid her any attention. She was one of those girls who talked very little and had one of those forgettable faces.

Text 2: Until, during history, Marcela pulled off the nails on her left hand.

Text 3: Our history teacher called a preceptor, who took her away.

Text 4: She was absent for a week.

Text 5: When she came back, she had gone from ignored to famous.
