Captain Jack Sparrow! I guess I'm just stupid when it comes to using search engines or something because I couldn't find very many clear pictures of Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. So I chose this one to draw, then realized about a million other Deviants have as well. Oh well. That's what I get for not doing my research properly!
BTW I hope to get a better scanner soon.It's best to see in full view

Very cool! I love all the little details and the angle is awesome! And I think it's cool that everyone draws around the same references, it's awesome to see how different people draw and interpret the same reference.

I agree! Due to it, I've different favs of the same reference or choose the best work of many. It's interesting to see different interpretations and techniques. Not to mention about quality of realizations and so on.

Exactly, everyone seems to change little things when they draw a popular reference too. There are those who can mimick the piece perfecting on their own, but it seems like a lot of people change things, I'm definitely guilty of that.

I even more like pieces with such changes and/or visible used technique (traces of brush or pencil and so on) than hiperrealistic representations of the reference. The latter is impressive, but rather only as the proof of skill. The former shows hand, style... soul of the artist. And in realistic art it's possible too! Here is the good example, I think.
