Description Dolly the sheep became a scientific sensation when her birth was announced in 1997.

In 1995 a group of scientists at the Roslin Institute in Edinburgh were looking for a way to modify farm animals genetically.
A year before Dolly's birth, they found it. They cloned Megan and Morag from embryonic cells, grown for several weeks in the laboratory.
Perhaps surprisingly, this breakthrough did not arouse much public - or media - interest.

Dolly was born on 5 July 1996, although the world didn't find out until early the following year. She was the first mammal cloned from an adult cell, rather than embryonic, and her birth - splashed over newspaper front pages - brought the issues surrounding cloning to breakfast table around the world.

Mammals reproduce sexually - a process that always involves two parent animals; one male, the other female. Cloning is the production of a new, genetically identical, individual from a single parent animal.

Many objections to cloning animals and research into possible human cloning centre on the simple fact that 'it's not natural'.

At 15.30 on Friday 14 February 2003, scientists at the Roslin Institute decided that Dolly, the world's most famous sheep, should be put down. She had been suffering from a progressive lung disease.

I'm sort of confused at the fact the left and right hand dogs have matching heads/neck areas, and that the far dog is a clone of the lefthand front one. This is a photomanip unless I'm horribly mistaken; it probably should be categorized as such, not under photography.

The dogs seem just a little out of place. They're lacking a meshing element I think, they need more blue in the darker tones to match the [link] Also I think a bit of shadow caused by the lighting would be a good idea.

Still, a worthy effort. The reflection is pretty good, and the perspective is spot on for the most part.

Fair enough, but dA does require proper category selection. Which might remove the mystique, but nobody said you have to look at the category name.
