It's pathetic, isn't it? My brother was in the Navy & said that they run across huge mats of floating trash that the ocean currents have brought together. The mats just go on and on and on and it's primarily polystyrene cups and the like.
Here is a resource for any who may care. Might be a bit extreme for some people but if everyone even just reduced it would help.
And there is hope right here with products made from sugar cane, potatoes, bamboo (using plant cellulose) that mimic plastic but are biodegradable.
The trick is getting people to care so thank you for your picture and post.
