Description
While my husband and I were at Oatland this weekend a little flash of movement caught my attention in the leaf litter. I stepped off the path and waited. And waited. The problem with Ground Skinks is once they detect movement they tend to just stop, and the little guy sat hidden under a leaf while I crouched down, while I waited, while people stopped to ask me what I'm taking a picture of. Finally the slew of visitors left me alone and the quiet brought him back out into the sunlight.

I use to have a couple of these guys, they're very friendly and easy to tame. I consider them the woozles of the skink world.
