Description Part of a 3-section tutorial on how to photomanipulate a Chinese dragon. While it's specifically about the dragon, the exact same techniques apply to any subject.

This part is the basic collage stuff. Tutorial: Dragon Head
goes into greater detail about blending and suchlike.

Tutorial: lighting and coloring shows you how to blend the dragon with the background.

Thanks to *pricecw-stock for the snake stock!

At the end, the head still looks kinda copy/pasted on. Something to work on for you, but I've no idea how. The legs also seem a bit odd, especially that one sticking out to the right.

Amazing work, like always !
But I have a question : what are you doing of the pencil's lines (sorry for my english ) ?
Do you erase them, leave them or... ?

Ahyicodae In reply to superdwarf [2009-05-13 18:48:33 +0000 UTC]

The sketch is on a separate layer. I simply delete the layer when I no longer need it for reference.

Ahyicodae In reply to Dezilon [2008-04-13 16:33:33 +0000 UTC]

Except for the snake stock, they're all pictures that I took at museums or out when I was hiking or things like that. I have a digital camera and I take lots of photos to use in my artwork.
