Description
My rendition of a fascinating exoplanet discovered in 2014.
This gaseous exoplanet is roughly the size of Jupiter and orbits a nearby star. It is composed mainly of hydrogen and helium with noΒ discernable surface. It has a long whispy comet-like tail about 560,000 km long. The tail seems to be a result of the powerful stellar wind from the star stripping the atmosphere away from the gaseous planetΒ and blowing it out into space.Β Remarkably, this planet loses a staggering 200,000 tons of mass from its atmosphere every second. Amazing!
