This is absolutely stunning! Her hair especially is the jewel of this picture; it flows beautifully, the shading is gorgeous, and I love the color. I can see why the flowers took you a while; they're intricate and well drawn.
Speaking of intricate, that lace! I notice you even shaded the individual strands in the patterns; that's some serious attention to detail!
I have a few observations and suggestions for ways in which this picture or future drawings like it could be improved; hopefully you'll find them helpful. For the purpose of this comment, whenever I say "left" or "right", I mean the viewer's left or right, not the character's.
1. The face
Her face is beautiful, but on closer examination, there are a few details that look off.
The first one I noticed is that her visible eyebrow is very rectangular and hard-edged, especially when compared to the far more natural flow of her hair. Unless she artificially shapes her eyebrow, it should be fuzzier and taper slightly at the end. Here's an example of an eyebrow with a somewhat rectangular end: cdn2.stylecraze.com/wp-content⦠You can see the individual hairs in it, and the very slight taper. You don't have to draw every individual hair, but even giving the eyebrow a more oval tip would have helped to make it look more like an eyebrow and less like a piece of paper.
The nose is turned a bit too far sideways, and the base of it doesn't intersect with herΒ philtrum (upper lip dent). At this angle, I'd suggest having it a bit more centered, with a shallower curve.
Is having blurry or damaged irises a deliberate part of her design? If not, I recommend making the edges of her irises sharper and clearer, because the blurriness pushes her otherwise beautiful eyes into Uncanny Valley and gives me a slight "zombie" vibe that makes what was probably meant to be a joyful expression look just slightly dangerous and demented.
The angle of her eyebrow probably contributes to this impression; the expression in her eyes makes me think the inner tip of the eyebrow should be tilted up a bit more, and that slight discrepancy between the eye expression and her eyebrow angle gives her whole expression a subtly unbalanced look, like there's something less than benign going on behind her tearfully happy face.
If that's the impression you were going for, you nailed it! If not, hopefully these observations will help with your future drawings.
The skin inside her ears looks a bit too disconnected, like there are strands of flesh stretched over a dent instead of some parts of her ear being raised more than the others. Here's an example of an ear from that angle: sophosnews.files.wordpress.com⦠You'll probably notice that there's a smoother transition between the raised parts and the parts that are more indented.
2. Consistency
For the most part, you have a clear and consistent wind direction, which gives her hair a very nice lift and flow. There are two exceptions: the tuft of hair beside her ear, and the red spots. I'm not really sure what the red spots are, but they look like blood spattered on a camera that's focusing on something farther away than said spots. As with her facial expression, if you were going for a hint of something dangerous and demented, that's good, albeit not entirely clear to the viewer.
If the red spots aren't on the "camera", but are in fact part of the scene around her, I think it would be better if they and the abovementioned hair tuft were blowing in the same direction as her hair and clothing. If you wanted a bit of color in the background, petals blowing off the flowers would have been a good option.
Similarly, the light direction is mostly consistent, except for the shadow cast by her nose. Most of her says "the light source is ahead and to the viewer's left", but the nose shadow says "the light source is on her right". Also, her body doesn't seem to be casting a shadow on her hair, and the shadows the hair casts on itself don't seem to have a rhyme or reason besides "it looks pretty".
That seems to be a pattern among people who do intricate hair shading; the hair looks awesome, but its shading doesn't correspond with the overall light direction.
I suggest choosing one light direction, and sticking with it throughout the whole image.
3. Shading
I've touched on the shading a couple times above, but there are a couple other aspects to it that deserve mentioning.
The subtle bluish purple shade in some of the shadowed areas makes the skin look slightly bruised or dead. Combined with the zombie-ish eye blur and the red spots, it adds a bit of darkness to the picture's tone, and it gives me the impression that maybe this wedding is her last happy moment before she turns, and she's crying from mingled joy and sorrow.
Once again, if that was the goal, awesome! It's just a little hard to tell from the image and description whether this joyous yet dark, bittersweet impression was the intended effect. If you wanted it to be purely happy, you might want to use warmer, redder shades for the shadows.
The shading on her neck sometimes turns too abruptly from light to dark where there's a line, making it look like there's a sharp corner or crease in her skin. This is especially noticeable on the far right side of her neck and at the neck tendons. I suggest making the transition from light to shadow a bit smoother when you're working with something curved like a throat. Also, the area where her neck tendons meet her collarbone is flat, when it should be a slightly shadowed indent.
The dress ruffles look great, except on sleeve. The outer edge of the sleeve hugs the contour of her arm, giving the impression that it's skintight, so the folds make it look like there are big dents in her arm. For there to be folds, it should be bulging away from her skin in places rather than staying flush with the skin.
Overall impression:
While a few aspects of the lighting and anatomy are off, this picture still makes a beautiful first impression.
While it's hard for me to be sure what kind of mood you were going for, the possible blood splatters, combined with the eye blur, facial expression, and bluish tinge in her skin, create a dangerous and bittersweet effect, like part of her is overjoyed by this fragment of a happy life that she's experiencing, while another part is grieving the fact that it can't last long because there's something deadly inside of her.
Keep up the awesome work, and I hope my observations and suggestions help you become even more awesome!

Hi there!!
First of all, thank you so much for your compliments and your observations!! I'll try to pay attention to what you've told me!!Β
aAh, about the blood! yup, it was supposed to be petals, but I think I should have made their shape look more like,,, petals actually haha!! My goal wasn't to make this look like a sad moment, so I'll try to keep your advices in mind! The blurred iris is something i've been doing for a while as a stylistic choice, but from now on i'll try to make it less,, blurry. xD I've seen the bluish purple shade on a few other artists' work, and since i really liked it, I tried to reproduce it in this drawing, but i think i should try a colour a bit different to make it more obvious that this isn't a bruise or something xDD
Well, besides that, I agree with pretty much everything you said!! Thank you so much for all the tips and your comment!! <33

You're welcome so much!
Sometimes, an artist knows what they want to convey, but not how a viewer will interpret it, which is why an outside opinion is helpful.
The bluish purple shade would work better if this was supposed to be a sad image, or if her surroundings were bluish purple; for example, if she were in an ice cave or surrounded by purple objects like walls or curtains, that would affect the color of the light falling on her. For instance, I'm currently surrounded by pink walls, so the light that bounces off of them makes my skin look unnaturally reddish.
But without those context cues to indicate that the color is a product of the light, by process of elimination that leaves discoloration of the skin. The purple hair could cause the light bouncing off of it to be slightly purplish on, say, the back of her neck, but not on the side of her body opposite the hair.
All in all, you certainly can use bluish purple shading; it's just a matter of making sure it matches the intended tone of the image, and the ambient lighting.
In general, cool colors like blue and bluish shades of green and purple make things look softer and sadder, while warmer tones like yellow, red and orange, as well as yellowish green and reddish purple, make it look happier or more intense.
Obviously, this works in conjunction with the other elements in the image - a red-toned image could look sad if it depicted a person mourning their blood-spattered beloved - but that same image would still have a more angry, dangerous feel than it would've had if the dominant color was a somber shade of blue.

The purple hair tells me she's dangerous.
Her tears and smile tells me she's happy.
So, I'd say she's happy to be dangerous.

Yeah, probably.
But, she's only a nice person until she's not.
Example - someone steals her favorite hairbrush.
Said individual would, most likely, be given a 'scolding.'
