“So… um, what’s this about another tour you speak of, my lord?”
--Rylee Dray
Not all stories were told with particular fanfare.
While Vaerar would eventually meet his future life mate, Azshara Zavros, he had what some felt was a very close relationship with a follower on Nar Shaddaa. Indeed, during his first time spent on the moon he grew fond of the human, Rylee Dray, who aided in defeating the hedonistic Lord Paladius, a pureblood Sith. Vaerar used Paladius’ wealth soon after to immortalise a cult that saw the scheming Togruta as something akin to a merciful prophet that healed the sick and brought prosperity to the forgotten.
In doing so, Nar Shaddaa became one of Vaerar’s bases of power. Even the Hutts themselves kept their distance from the Sith Lord, preferring diplomacy over fruitless turf warfare. Rylee herself was besotted by the charismatic alien and her passion to his cause was rewarded as the two met in secret countless times to continue their romance. During one such tryst Vaerar snuck her off-world to let her experience for the first time what life was like on a world of blue, devoid of industry and renowned for its natural, tropical beauty. It was there their love truly blossomed, in an age where many would have deemed it a pathetic weakness. Especially for one among the Sith.
… hey, I might be a Zavros fan but it was a crime to just ignore Rylee like she never existed. (Plus she was always cuter…)
lol, that said, it’s pretty obvious TOR has a lot of characters who deserved better. Stay tuned for more.
