Photo taken at the Menagerie at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. The Menagerie was founded as a public zoo after the French Revolution of 1789. It is one of the oldest zoos in the world.
These animals are extremely dangerous! Do not take them lightly. Just recently, a stupid kid at my local zoo got hurt because he tried to mess with one. Here is a link to the story: [link] Here is information on how endangered this animals is: [link]

This is a wonderful photo, I love his upward expression, so peaceful!
Your comment about the Kansas incident made me do a double take! I live in Wichita and go to that zoo, so I'm quite outraged at the kid for his irresponsible behavior and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that since the injuries were minimal they won't have any reason to get rid of the cat.
