I could blabber so much about everything behind this artwork
This I something that I needed to do since last July. While it doesn't seem to be different from the other character designs that I have created previously, for me this one is very special. I've been postponing it so much because I knew it would mean a LOT of work. Even if she just seems like another cliché character, I kinda grew fond of Samira as time went by (is that even normal? I think I need professional help) so I really wanted to put 300% of my effort in the revamp of her pic and application.
I've begun working on this by the end of April/beginning of May. Due to countless corrections plus a pinch of obsessive perfectionism, I dedicated a lot of time to this. But, in my opinion, it paid off.
SO, here it is, Sammy V3.0, without eye-patches, without tattoos on her face and without many other things that I hated of her previous design

Last but not least, thanks to everyone who put up with my WIPs, gave me advice and also to the mods who checked the app updates so quickly 8'D

It's so amazing I... I have no words for it. goddammit I hate you and your epic skills But seriously, this is one of the most beautiful and impressive revamp I've seen. You began drawing it in April? Well, it was worth the wait and the perfectionism ocd No really, I love everything! But I admit the weapons are awesome my god, so well made and these clothes oh oh, let's not talk about them~ because it's been two days straight and I'm still looking at every pixel of this drawing

Good freaking grief Ainu, just make me want to completely give up on art why don't you?? Okay seriously, this looks absolutely gorgeous~ From top to bottom just, stunning. Her outfit, the colors, those blades, just uuuuugh. The sheer amount of effort and care that you've put into this is quite plain to see; from every small detail on her blades and clothes, to the shading/shadows, those textures, her hair and that expression. Simply exquisite~
All in all an absolutely beautiful character design and I must say that I'm so excited to be able to see the way you've improved and grown when looking over Sam's old apps. >w< Love it~

So, The amount to texture for the clothes, you can almost feel exactly how they feel.
To the leathery looking sides of her corset. The the tight leggings she has on, and the armor on her shoulders!
She is very beautiful indeed. The way you can see her hair locks, are amazingliy good. And her eyes are something that hold a story behind them~ The shadow, contrast. Just. asdfghnjgyfgvds I can't. Even. <3 <3

Naaaah onward to the real comment XD I am in awe in front of this, especially since I've seen your art grow to THIS LEVEL in such a small amount of time OAO You did put all your efforts in that update, and it shows~ Your use of textures, along with your shading is really brilliant, it really looks like a perfect mix to me @u@ I can proudly say that I've been there to see Samira grow from a tomboyish girl to a sexy femme fatale >u>~ Your attention to all the small details amaze me: the seams on her gloves and belts, every strand of hair, her light makeup and the fact that you can actually tell apart the fabrics her clothing is made of... it simply all amazes me.

Seriously, thank you very much for all those words. I always have the impression of progressing very slow (or at least not as fast as I'd like to) so you have no idea of how encouraging is to hear the opposite.
I'm also happy that all the details are appreciated... I think that I'm slowly getting the hang of adding simple details that look relevant when the artwork is complete.
But one of the things that I'm very proud of is that she gives the impression of being a femme fatale, really, I think that was the objective of this redesign. SO THANKS, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR WORDS, I CAN'T SHOW MY GRATITUDE PROPERLY THROUGH WORDS, BUT THANKS
By the way,we should RP some day! I know you have a bunch of RPs going on and that you're busy with irl stuff, but whenever you have time (and by 'whenever' I really mean it, even if it's in x-mas or in 2014) we could give it a try |D
