My entry for Ethernitas contest!
Despite of my absence during the last year or so, I had a really nice time at SoC, hence I was hyped when I heard of this new group because it's awesome to see so many familiar faces as admins,mods or future members.
At first, I was going to draw something about my potential character for the contest, but Black really caught my eye. First of all, I'm a fan of characters who are both elegant and deadly in any possible way, and, also, I love spiders, so you can figure out why I liked this character so much

Her horns man, her horns. Its usually hard for a detail to drive my attention away from the face as a general rule, but I think I was so lookin forward to see it shaded that it really stands out for me! Your metal colorin is goin on a good direction too, keep it goin! You made the background have a great atmosphere too, very eye catchin~

That metal effect was reeeeeally hard to achieve, because, you know, I never draw metal stuff (leather ftw). But references always make my existence easier! And I'm also glad to hear that I achieved some kind of atmosphere with the background, because at the beginning I didn't know what I was doing. You should see the first idea of a background I had, it was depressingly horrible

Seriously though, I have no words for this. *points at Dusty's comment* She nailed it to the core. I absolutely love the simplicity of this, as it makes your improvement show sooo much more and everything stand out. It's classy, and elegant, deep, dark... just the epitome of beautifully deadly. Thanks a lot for your comment Kyandi! One of the main objectives that I set for this artwork was creating something like a dark mood and, at the same time, reflecting my impression of Dea's character. Hence, comments like yours are very encouraging for they confirm that I reached the goal (:

Hey Ainu!!! I have tosay this I really like where your Art is going! It seems tomeyou have improved so much in this past years! Your way of coloring has become very realistic starting from the skin to the whole environment lightning and how it effects the light on evrything else. I also really likethos dusty particels in the background and how the change depending how the light falls into them! It adds a certain mystical note to the whole piece.I think your coloring on the skull is very true of how a real bone looks like and you did amazing job on the metall decorations on her head! Again here the light reflexes make it look like real metal! I could point out more details that I like in this picture,but i think it would be a too long of a comment then xDD Thumbs up!!!! Keep drawing Ainu!!! You are really improving (well as much as my opinion counts in this xDD) ~~

Thank you for noticing and appreciating all those little details; sometimes I throw them in there and don't even know if someone will end up noticing them
Different kind of brushes helped me with the skull and it was quite interesting to use them for each of them has some crispy tricks and secrets! Metal was more difficult because I was never realy good at colouring it, but references helped a lot!

I really like the character's pose and the lighting of this, Ainu. I don't know anything about Dea's character, but if you were trying to summarize an impression of her, you hit the mark really, really well. Her legs are a bit wonky, but she still sits in a way that still commands attention and respect to the viewer. The color scheme even contributes to her sexiness, like a pinup model but with more power.

It's really nice to know that her pose achieved the effect that I wanted it to. Sincerely, I didn't know much about the character either (except for what is written in her app), but I tried to grasp the main idea.
