The Sun Empire was Matriarchal, and as firstborn daughter of the Sun Empress, she was next in line to the throne.
Her family had worshipped the old cruel gods: the Wounded God, the Red Queen, the Sun Eater and the Warlike Child.
When the new gods arrived, the Empress of the Sun tore down the old temples and built a gleaming tower to Kaunitar, Goddess of Beauty, even though it would certainly mean the destruction of her realm.
Isn't it said that the old must pass away to allow the new to grow, after all?
