Description These little fellows spawned from leftover material when I was working on their bigger cousins; this creatures are depicted in the book and mentioned casually here and there, as they're not as complex as other animals, they were done very quickly. specially noteworthy is the Mummy-Nest Flyer, that has actual translucent wings

Interestingly, these are very colorful, because in most cases they're used as decorative elements on paintings. I had a lot of fun painting them, usually the palette of darwin IV creatures is somewhat dull.

It's quite interesting! How do you feel about the color? for me it was the hardest choice involving that particular piece and I'm still not really sure if I want to repaint it.

I think you got the color spot on. So many of Barlowe's creations were red/brown or grey.

haha the part where they jump from nowhere, or the part where they burrow into your flesh and eat you from the inside?

hahahaha personally the critter I find most unnerving in Expedition is the Carver Wing... followed closely by the Forest Gulper

Hmm... I can't say I'm familiar with the Carver Wings, but I completely agree with you on the Gulper.

they're just mentioned briefly, but are described as some sort of parasitoid, much like those nasty wasps that lay their eggs on the back of caterpillars

I absolutely love these! They could almost be used for full-scale models in a Darwin IV exhibition
