Description
The Sukhoi Su-38 Slamhound is the Russian multirole aircraft in EndWar. This single-seat multi-role fighter is kitted out to perform ground attack and troop support missions. It has reinforced cockpit armour and numerous hardpoints for munitions. Its forward-swept wing design and vectored thrust abilities allow it to be manoeuvrable at low speeds and high angles of attack. It is armed with a Gsh-30-6 rotary cannon, unguided rockets, and air-to-ground missiles. Physically, the aircraft resembles the Su-47 Berkut, an experimental, swept-wing supersonic fighter developed in the 1980s by the Soviet Union. "Slamhound" is not a NATO reporting name. All "F"ighter NATO reporting names start with an F such as Flanker, Fishbed and Fulcrum. S stands for Surface-to-Surface, such as the Scud missile. Russians themselves do not give official names to aircraft.
