An older drawing of mine, originally used as my FanFiction.Net avatar during the 2009 release of my Pokemon fanfiction, “It’s Her Party, and She’ll Cry If I Want To.” [link]Veterans of my fanfiction may/may not recognize this image as an old avatar of mine. However, the avatar has since changed, so I dusted off this drawing and uploaded it for viewers to enjoy again. Azuril is a cute and ideal Pokemon for Misty, no? I stylized Misty's hair a tad more wildly than the anime, (and I think stole a little inspiration from how Toshihiro Ono's manga depicted her). I hope nobody minds.
Despite the DA release date, again, this image is one of my older fanarts. Art-wise, the image was drawn digitally in Photoshop and Corel Painter, via rough sketch outlines and coloring with airbrushes and blenders. Extra effects such as drop shadow were made in Photoshop.
Pokemon is © Nintendo, etc. Trust me, bad things would happen if I owned the series.

Thank you very much for commenting and favoriting this piece! It happens to be an older drawing I dusted off, but I too always liked how the coloring turned out. Misty is one of my favorite characters to draw, namely because I love her orange-red hair and ocean-blue eyes. ^^ Originally, this artwork was supposed to be 2D-anime-style, but I tend to prefer color-blending to give it a slight 3D airbrushed effect. I'm glad you like it!

Ah, that's okay if you don't recall this image on FFnet. I used to change my avatar compulsively back then, so the picture changed nearly every week! Plus, this image isn't 100%-related to IHP, anyway, sans Misty and the brief cameo of Azuril. No worries. See, this is why I reposted the image here, so people could better appreciate it!
I'm pretty attached to the color blue in this work, too. I really love the ocean, and ocean-blue is one of my favorite colors, so I think I went all-out with the ocean-blue theme here (perfect for Misty, no?). I've read some places where fans believe Misty's color is "yellow" (because she wears yellow a lot *understandable*), but I've always believed her ideal color is an ocean-blue. And little Azuril is just such a "Misty Pokemon!" I'm really glad she got an Azuril later in the anime (even though we hardly ever see it).
Anyway, as always, thanks again! As far as whether or not I'll draw our *favorite* twerp, well...that's for the future to decide. ^_~

Thanks so much! (I'm sorry I've been lagging behind on replying to your messages. My hometown's been clobbered with snow lately, and I've been shoveling more than I've been online T_T).
Several people seemed to like how I drew Misty's eyes here, which I'm glad. ^^ This picture is actually older than my other deviations, and I've varied my style a little since then, so to me, I think this picture is pretty "dated" for my current skills. Still, I did like this piece, and Misty's eyes and hair were my favorites. That, and I really like drawing the cutesy Pokemon characters. They're so adorable!
