**EDIT the one thing i dont like about this style though is how hard it is to make individual xD. "this looks like ____'s style" comments, here we come!some people told me to try a new style -- I dont think this is what they had in mind
But anyways, a few people know that when im older, theres 3 distinct styles I want to be able to do -- Anime, or the stle i have now [but hopefully bettered xD], that painterly semi-realism, and Neogothicsurrealism--er, dark cartoony style xDD ALSO this was a test to see if i could draw big comfortably xD its about 25-50% bigger than what i usually do.
ANYWAYS this is Nahr :U He's been a subject of style testing such as and . He spends his time being a traveling, enthusiastic ringleader or carny of circuses and freak shows and owns a lovely bed and breakfast OF MURDER up in the forest of who knows where >U>

anyways, this was a great deal of fun to do, since i've been weighted down by reviewing for finals *SOBS* i have my english one tomorrow, wish me luck!

The background and moon look amazing even though it is sort of simple, his hat is so creepy and strangely adorable, his suit I really want for myself(Especially the coat), and the cane reminds me of a pin or needle that you'd stab a voodoo doll with. 8D

WELL! Some may be inclined to call me biased, but I think this version of this character is best. Not just stylistically, but quality-wise as well.
This style also seems a lot more natural, like you know EXACTLY how to pull it off, you just tend not to use it.

I love the way you made the shadows on his clothes curly and managed to incorporate your thick-lined style into this~

I wouldn't worry about individuality. Don't get me wrong, it's good that you're trying to not just copy what someone else has done, but at this point there is someone that you don't know of with the same style as you, no matter how hard you try.
Wanna know what you can do about it? Draw original content. I wouldn't care if your illustrations looked like they came straight from the desk of Jhonen Vasquez, as long as you're drawing something interesting that I've never seen anywhere else. In that respect, you're more than set.

well i definitely seen this style SOMEWHERE before but i can't decide where it was. My first impression was danny phantom but then i was like 'nah, not quite'. then I was like "Grim adventures of billy and mandy' but then i was like 'almost, but not really there'. then i thought invader zim and i was like 'ok i'm definitely getting colder'. anyways it would probably kill me to try and figure out exactly where the style is from since it probably deviates in some small way from all the things it reminds me of so im'ma finish by saying it looks like a more anime styled cross between DP and GAoBaM. Also, for some reason, the tune of 'this is halloween' (KH version) keeps playing in my mind every time i see this.
