Description The good news: I finally managed to do another painting. It feels like I did the last one ages ago.
I tried a new painting technique here and I think it turned out very well. One of my best horse paintings up to now, in my eyes.

The bad news is that I orignially already planned to submit this before April 23, according to the #pARTy-challenge group. When I was invited to the group I thought that participating in this challenge would be a good way to get me painting again.
But real life was very busy again and what was planned as a quick sketch turned into a full-blown painting, so I didn't manage to finish it in time.

Thanks! Hearing that this picture looks realistic enough for you to think it was a manip at first is really nice, since realism is what I try to achieve.

Thank you, I'm very glad you like it. And I do hope to have more time for painting again in the future. Right now, it's exams time so my schedule is thight, but the summer break is nearing ...

Hehe ... just wait a moment while I go into the kitchen and search for the big knife ...
But you're right, I like the background, too. Not so much as the horse itself, but I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. I know about having trouble and a lack of patitience with doing backgrounds. Keep trying, look for some reference pictures and it'll look right eventually.

The nice thing about the challenge is that you don't have to complete the drawing during those dates . Heck, you can completely do them all out of order, if you want ^^. We're very lax that way

Oh yes, the loose deadline is indeed a very nice thing. I'm not know for finishing things on time. But it's fun to get provided with a source of inspiration on a regular basis, and especially to see what other artists did with exactly the same source.
And I already fell in love with the next challenge after the one I just finished, so I'll be doing that one when I have the time.
