It's not the porn that I was concerned with. I made this when it was getting very popular (3 years ago) to post bad quality cellphone photos with a zoom up of their dicks which went up on the front page because everyone was looking at them. :/

True. Some people also draw Animal-Human hybrids with Boobs that are 4 Times Bigger than their Head. Really?! NOT very attractive...

I agree with you. I have stumbling upon actual sex acts on the site. I wish the moderators would do their jobs and review the pictures posted by these people or better yet make a sub- section of the site where the users looking for art don't have to view their distasteful works. I say works very loosely because compared to drawing out an image or photo manipulating something taking a pretty forward picture is not that difficult without difficulty in my opinion it can't be considered art also without taste. I see people posting pictures that pretty much could have been ripped from a porn video and in fact some are or stolen from other sites. Moderators need to get back in their game and start editing the site or allow for peer reviewing that actually does something.

I still see horrible things with the mature filter, and it's just there for porn, it's not art. It's just to make you lust for this obviously unrealistically busty animal-thing. (animal love oh god....)
They don't think it's artistic like the greek did or whatever! (if even they did) because if they did they wouldn't of drawn the person with huge unreal chest! (that completely ignores the whole "natural body art" thing.)Not to mention they aren't wearing a bra half the time and it shows blatantly... (which is also obviously unrealistic) I'm telling you, the moderators must be porn addicts or something...

Completely agree. Don't understand how most of these photos could be artistic. They're not in any way. Put some clothes on them and she how "artistic" it looks.

Meant "see."
Yes and some of them are even given DD's. Like wtf? So actual drawn nudity can be flagged, but not images like those. It's gross to see. Why would I need to use my mature filter when I'm over the age of 18? They should be the ones constrained. DA is not for porn and it's shameful that this category exists.

I'm glad you set your "Mature Content" filter to not display these pictures that you find offensive. That IS what it's there for after all!
I'm not going to come to the defense of ALL nudity on dA, but if you look back through history the nude form has always been a regular fixture of ART throughout the ages.
I would be surprised if you were able to go into ANY art museum and NOT find a Nude in there somewhere.
If you don't like seeing the nude form, then it's probably best that you turned off your Mature Content filter.

The thing to remember about artistic nudity versus pornography is the viewer. Overall the general pornographic reaction is to be aroused by something. If you are not aroused sexually by the picture then it isn't pornography in your own sense.
I agree with this stamp entirely, but the responses of some of the comments are confusing nudity with pornography. Nudity is something that we are all given and possess. Don't be such a prude to suggest others do not have a naked figure. If you do not wish to see it, turn your maturity filter on and walk away.
Drawing the naked figure is something all drawing artists have to do. I look at a ton of naked photos every other day, but not one arouses me. Why? Because I see the light, the form, the anatomy of the human body and that is what we should all see.
Sadly yes there are people that think macro shots of their genitalia is artistic and I don't really want to see it, but it's just unpleasant, not pornographic.

I myself (and this is just my opinion) don't believe in 'artistic' nudes...I think that in art, nudity should be avoided, it seems pointless, and (for me) ruins good artwork...I often do not see what it contributes to the work...and I agree I'm fed up of seeing it on the front page XD

ditto9 In reply to LucieKJ [2013-02-17 11:22:33 +0000 UTC]
Nudity should be avoided? How can one study anatomy, for art or science? You can never draw a human until you have life studied, life drawing and observing the body we were born with is nothing to be ashamed of. Nudity is beautiful in its own right. Pornography is something entirely different.
As Andrew Loomis said, 'If you are offended by the sight of the body the Almighty gave us to live in...give up all thought of a career in art...without such study is a deplorable waste of time'

LucieKJ In reply to ditto9 [2013-02-17 13:10:12 +0000 UTC]
I'm aware that nudity is used in the study of anatomy, and I wasn't really referring to that...I'm not a person that thinks nudity is 'beautiful', I think it is a private thing, and I don't like when its used in art, especially when it's completely irrelevant, and does nothing but distract from the rest of the piece. This is all just my opinion though, I don't like when nudity is used in art...but that's just what I think, it's not going to change anything...

ditto9 In reply to LucieKJ [2013-02-17 17:02:48 +0000 UTC]
I agree it's also something that should be private but at the same time I am not ashamed of my life drawings, nor do I hide them from anyone. I believe if you have the mindset to pose nude for a camera in an artistic approach then more to you, it's liberating. I'd never do it, personally but yes it's opinion. I agree though if a piece is just titties for the sake of titties then it's like...why.

Someone just taking pictures of their vagina to upload it on the internet is perverted, gross, and wrong, and definatly counts as porn. But some people work for days and hours to get a good shot of an artistic nude photo, 95% of artistic nude isn't even the photography of genitals. Some people find the photography of artistic nude beautiful, like a work of art.
Personally, I'm not into artistic nude at all, but I can see why other people are.

I finally found a stamp that makes absolute perfect sense.
So sick of seeing women who are meant to appear tasteful wearing skimpy little bikinis (or a lot less than that) and posing in obscure ways, then having the photographer deem it as 'art'. If we wanted to look at soft porn or bikini/underwear shots, we'd take a trawl through Google Images.
