Your Growlithe and Arcanine are fitting so well with Johns heart.
Most of the time he seems to be our "smart and fluffy but not very dangerous little doctor" like Growlithe. But when it comes to love, loyality and friendship you should not underestimate him. It's like he's burning, it's like he's the only one who could evolve without any magic stone and you can see that in his eyes. They're glowing like the eyes of your Arcanine.

I love the idea of a Pokemon (especially one of my favorites, like this) evolving to protect their trainer, but I'm curious about something: Where did Growlithe get the fire stone to evolve? Did john have one on him or something?

Nope, no stone. It's a game mechanic and John is not 11 year old trying to 'catch them all' on his GBA so yeah, I don't give a flying f about that. Btw, I might be completely ignorant but please tell me how Growlithes evolve in the wild?

Okaaaay...Wasn't trying to start something. I was just asking. o.O And fire stones ARE natural things in the Pokemon world. I'm sure a Growlithe can find one in the volcanic mountains that they normally inhabit. Also, I can't recall ever finding a wild Arcanine. They're pretty rare, ya know.
