Edit: I changed the shading of Spyros abit since I didn't like it much before.I've been wanting to redo this picture [link] for a while, and I finaly got to it
BTW about the art trades sorry I'm not realy doing them alot at the moment, but I prefer to carry them on when I feel more like doing them, otherwise I'll end up rushing and they wont be as good
Anyway back to the picture. As you guys may or may not know, I tend to prefer old to new on most things, music, video games (not the graphics though) ect... I also dislike the legend of Spyro series. It's not so much the game, it's more the fact that they completly changed Spyro for, in my opinion, the worst. I would've prefered if they made this game with new characters, instead of making it spyro. I also dislike the new Crash Bandicoot as well
And please, no flaming or anything. I have the right to my own opinion.
Now talking about the drawing itself, I'm actualy quite pleased with the result
Even though the background's simple again. I wasn't going to make it so detailed, but I got carried away with the drawing 
As for the blood, you're probably thinking this isn't like me at all XD I just wanted to practice with that (and the burn marks) and make the picture more realistic. If you think I should put it as mature art, say so.
I won't bother saying which is the new Spyro and which is the old Spyro, cause I"m sure you can guess
Even if new Spyro may beat old Spyro in a fight (with all those un-necessairy attacks he has) as far as games go, old would always win for me

You're not the only one who doesn't like the los series.
I used to like it, but when I replayed it and thought about it, this should be it's own game without Spyro. But what i don't like aside from the tone of the story is how lengthy the levels are and how repedative it gets when fighting enemies.

Why does everyone complain about Skylanders like it's a Spyro game? It's a Skylanders game. Just a game with spyro in it.

Well that's just the thing. Β Skylanders and Spyro are like oil and water. Β They were never meant to be together in the first place.
And to add further injury to insult, they completely fucked up his design and made him look like a fucking gremlin.
That is why people complain, and I don't blame them.

It's just marketing. The first game was so popular because parents saw Spyro in the title and thought their kids would love the character they grew up with. And it worked. Kids everywhere were playing Skylanders, and it became a success. Skylanders would not have been as successful without the inclusion of the beloved character. Spyro's design was meant to look like something new, but still familiar, to remind you: "You are not playing a Spyro game, but look, Spyro's here." I'm in the same boat as you, I love classic Spyro. Only difference is that I was more open to change.

I might be a little late to the 'discussion', but I do have something to say... *Ahem*. Who cares? Skylanders has gotten hate from many Spyro fans, not to be confused with Skylanders fans, because of his: Design, cancellation of a movie, really.... really ugly design. But Skylanders introduced many of the new generation of kids into our beloved purple dragon. Spyro is supposedly still a badass, ass kicking, hero in Skylanders and they've recaptured his image... Though it's ugly on the outside.
Die hard Spyro fans want to remember Spyro as a good memory, a story perhaps (Like my fanfictions *COUGH*). But if Skylanders was a 'Spyro game', then that would kill Spyro and his image, again only on the outside; it wasn't a Spyro game though and we still remember the good times. Saving Cynder... Saving her again... And again, then Saving the world. And for you 'older viewers', Saving the dragons, then Avalar, and lastly, the eggs. Get in Hunter! Another sucker in love! Just for the love of God don't remember 'Enter the Dragonfly'.
Even though I hate Skylanders for making Spyro's move history, it's redeemed itself by not making kids today not aware of Spyro. We'd tell them and just get a blank stare... ππππ

Combat wise, new Spyro by a long shot. Plus, I actually really like how he looked in DoTD (seeing him grown up was neat). But looks don't matter.
No matter what, I love both, though. Classic has a special place in my heart thanks to an awesome childhood with him, and the new one is just great!

Well it's gone to the point where I don't really hold a grudge on the LoS games anymore. I mean, they're still pretty fun games to play

I'm actually OK with the ANB Spyro, but the DotD just... i don't even know how he can walk with those legs...(and his chest is bigger than Cynder's... WTF?) The old Spyro had a nice story, but The Legend of Spyro was just another cliche story where the main character is a rare/legendary creature born once in *insert years/generations here*, defeats creatures that are 10000x bigger than him, has a dark form and saves the world from a overpowered creature that wants to destroy everything in it's sight with no reason.

Spyro's chest is bigger than Cynder's because he is a male. The reason they are the same overall size is because Cynder is slightly older than Spyro, also Malefor did have a reason for trying to destroy the world. In his eyes, the world is corrupt and he is doing a noble deed by cleansing it, A.K.A destroying it. And you had to have been exaggerating when you said ten thousand times bigger. Spyro and Cynder killed the earth golem by destroying the dark crystal on top of its head, basically the same effect if you were to sever the brain stem. They never actually destroyed the Destroyer, nor did the combat it. They disposed of the various dark crystals on it's body then finished it off by destroying the dark crystal heart. And really at the end of DotD Malefor was going to tire out Spyro and Cynder then mop the crystal floor with their asses, but they were saved by the ancient guardians that trained Malefor. He wasn't lying when he said he was eternal. And Spyro never acquired the dark form until the Eternal Night when he dualed Gaul. But yes you're right about Malefor being overpowered but really that was the ancients fault for spoon feeding him power in the first place

Also, no, i don't think Malefor had a reason to destroy the world. At all. on The Eternal Night, the Chronicler says that he basically became mad with power. He wanted more and more and consumed everything. Β And in the GBA version he says that Malefor "was lured by the evil pouring trough the Well of Souls." Which is where Spyro got his dark form.
But well... the GBA version also implies that Spyro and Cynder are siblings so..... yeah....
Now that i think of it, the Earth Golem and the Destroyer battles were something like "Shadow of Colossus", where you have to find the "weak point" to defeat the monsters.

They weren't as big as the Golem, but still, Spyro defeated both alone, and they didn't have dark gems. Well.... Arborick did trip and fell of a cliff or something like that.... Meh.
And you must admit that the story was pretty cliche, i mean, he's basically "DA CHOOSEN 1", part of a prophecy, one in 10 generations,Can learn and master everything better and faster than the elders who were born to be the guardians of the abilities.... Β I'm getting tired of seeing this kind of plot everywhere. At least the classic Spyro wasn't special or anything. He was just cool like that. And the stories aren't so bad.... They're actually kind of funny and unexpected.
Gnasty Gnorc had a short fuse,was banned, heard the stuff the dragons said about him and over-reacted like the drama-king he is XD
Ripto hated dragons, when he found Avalar, he wanted to take over it to make sure it would stay like that.Β
And the Sorcerer.... Well.... She wanted the dragon-eggs so she could take the hatchlings wings and make a spell so she could live forever.... Um....Β

Classic Spyro can charge and breath fire... Modern Spyro can breath fire, ice, electric and earth and claw melee!
I still like classic Spyro more even if modern has more moves XD

I agree completely! The only Spyro I am actually against is Skylanders Spyro but only because he has no personality and no need to be in the game. I mean, he is not even the main character!

That's so true! Also I watched a cutscene of game with him in it recently, and I feel like his voice doesn't go at all with how he looks. Though, maybe you just have to get used to it XD

This is an old picture, I'm not so bothered about the new Spyro anymore. Though I still think old Spyro is much better.
Through elements new spyro probably would win yeah, even though it runs out, which is a bit annoying in the game XD But otherwise it's good.
As for the story, it's ok but I think it's a bit much with the whole "purple dragon being superiour" thing. Plus Cynder is the only female character that seems to appear in the whole game (apart from Sparx's mum).
Anyway, I don't hate the legend of spyro games. But as for who's better game-wise I'd still go for classic spyro

What's the big deal? If you're a true, real spyro fan you get glad if there's a new game.
I likes the TLoS much better than the classics and I think LoS is much cuter too.
It's just fine if you like the classics better, but making wars between em and hate art is YUCK to me.

I drew this pic over a year ago now, and also I wasn't making a classic vs LoS war, I was just showing that I prefer Classic Spyro.
I am a Spyro fan, but doesn't mean I have to love every game that comes out with him in it. I don't hate the LoS games, I just wish they didn't change Spyro like that. They could have made up their own character to go with the story. But that's just my opinion anyway.
